This video from 2013 reminds me of several lessons. 1. Time. Just like investing, you don’t get the benefit of compound interest if you don’t put the time in. As you can see I’ve been doing the same thing for over a decade + That was my first office space I was so proud of it. 2. Consistency. You may not always feel like it, but if you want to win long term, you have to be willing to show up over and over and over again. 3. Invest in yourself. While it may not seem like it today, making the commitment to pay for a Videographer back then to shoot this video was a big deal. I wanted to show people that I was serious about what I was doing. 4. Do it afraid. Creating content online wasn’t nearly as popular then as it was now. I was not comfortable on camera, I was nervous and if I’m being honest, I didn’t know nearly as much as I do now, but I didn’t let that stop me from putting myself out there. So when you see the podcast tours, crazy events, increased production quality, accolades, wins, etc. just know that we all start somewhere. The most genius thing you can do, is not give up. I’m proud of that version of George for not giving up even though he had every reason to at times.
