Highlights
  • Creative First Birthday Party Decor: DIY Collage Wall & Silver Accents

I kept the party decor minimal with a simple silver colored theme and made the centerpiece a wall of printed out photos of our family over the past year. The hardest part of this collage wall is a tie between two tedious tasks: going through all of my photos over the past year and making an album of 250+ pictures to be printed out and putting scotch tape on every single one the day of the party. While the tech avenue of sharing photos has it’s own advantages, something about printed out photos really feel like a luxury, especially during such a special milestone. I purchased a happy birthday sign, some silver balloons, a silver back drop for behind Phoenix’s Lalo high chair (for when he smashes his cake!), and PHOENIX silver balloons.

  • the crystal press fashion blog

As fashion bloggers, when you aren’t feeling inspired by clothes, it is a bit of an issue LOL! Luckily, we have been patient with ourselves and over the past few days are feeling more hopeful about our spring wardrobes. I think that because last year was so weird when it came to shopping, we were putting a lot of pressure on ourselves about spring pieces this year. SO, without further ado, here is a massive round-up of pieces we have either bought already, have our eyes on, have in our carts or hope to see some of you guys rocking this season.

  • Four Seasons Philadelphia At The Comcast Center

In September 2019, John and I traveled to Philadelphia for the Rock n Roll Half Marathon – a warm up for John for the New York Marathon! I saw that the new Four Seasons Hotel in the Comcast Center had opened a few days before, and as a treat to Johnny, I decided to book one night at the luxury hotel. From the grandiose 60th floor lobby you have a 360 degree view of the city and beyond. There is an excellent lobby bar and restaurant on the 60th floor, which has incidentally become the new hot spot in town.

  • Notes on Body Positivity from Reb

a weird, short torso (remember this) and I’ve got a little extra love in some places that don’t look that great in this set. n’t hate the way my body looks in my daily life, so why should I hate the way my body looks in these photos? On a Q&A that I did over on my personal instagram, someone asked for more raw moments or moments where things didn’t go my way because it looks like my life is perfect. I am trying my best to share imperfect moments with you guys, and this post is a reminder to you all that we all have moments of insecurity, anxiety, embarrassment and frustration.

  • Golden Hour Editorial At Common House Richmond

i’ve been searching for inspo to bring to the blog and when i saw the green rooftop empty pool at common house my creative juices started flowing, and here’s the result. I did a little poll on IG stories and it was close, but people loved the mint green idea! , I wasn’t sure if I would end up keeping the mint pieces for the shoot, so I ordered a bunch of cheap Nasty Gal sets to choose from. I often struggle to come up with new poses, and feel like I have a few go-tos, so props are a game changer when it comes to make the photos more interesting, giving you angles and dimension to the pictures.

  • My Birth Story at St. Francis Medical Center Richmond

With the induction being Monday, my doctor suggested that I come into the hospital Sunday night to get the process started. I 100% should’ve gotten the epidural when he suggested it because by the time I could get it, I was in so much pain it was hard to stay still during the actual epidural process. The next time I got checked, we were getting close to time to push and the doctor and staff were confident we would have a baby by 10 PM March 2nd. Thank you to my rock/my husband, all of the amazing nurses at St. Francis Hospital, to my mother – my biggest inspiration and my lactation consultant, and to Dr. Paoloni at River City Obgyn for a safe and healthy delivery.

  • Neutral Sweater Dresses To Transition to Spring

If you keep scrolling, you’ll find this same dress in photos from 2 years ago (blonde hair!), which goes to show, that this and a few other neutral dresses are truly a staple in my closet. and I love that they can be dressed up or down, for staying at home or going to work, and the styles that I have found look like they will be flattering on any body style! I layered this particular one with a shacket for extra texture & depth, and if you check out the Reels, I added this leather belt to the black one, again to make the look more interesting. and now for a few throwback photos…..when my hair was long with blonde highlights, my white gucci mules were brand new and i still had my clear glasses.

Cathclaire Tips: How To Sage Your House

Cleanse your house, space, and spirit with my personal sage smudging routine. Placebo or no placebo, smudging my house with sage is always worth it. My sage prayer usually sounds something like: Please cleanse this space for the highest good of my family and all that come in contact with our beautiful home. As I intentionally sage my house, I hold my prayer in my minds eye and gently guide the negative energy towards to exit path I created for it.

    Style Inspiration for Layered Looks

It has been a bit harder to keep up with this kind of content, not only during quarantine but also as we are both juggling hectic schedules, trying to arrange photos with photographers, babysitters etc! I chose to give the sweater vest another go, and Catherine layered this hanky panky turtleneck not only with her Gucci tee, but with a sequin duster on top. I have been playing around with the layered sweater vest (or knit tank) look for a little while now, and while it isn’t always the most flattering thing on my body at all times, I think it looks cool 🙂 I loooove the way the sequin duster looks especially IRL, but the lace turtleneck really made this look IMO!
