  • How to Extract More Value from Your Data

According to authors Thomas H. Davenport and Jeanne G. Harris of the classic, Competing on Analytics, there are seven data characteristics that can be improved to enhance the value of data, and all of the characteristics emphasize data quality over data quantity.1 Seven characteristics to increase the value of data With MDM, companies can increase data value (and therefore its trustworthiness), enabling them to better understand their business and improve their performance. By establishing a trusted digital business hub, companies can further increase data value by providing internal teams and systems with visibility and access to the data through better data workflows and governance. With a vision and plan to increase your companies’ data value, being mindful of the seven characteristics will enable you to set a foundation of better data and get greater results from your analytics.

  • Need Big Data? Think Small Data First.

Together, small data and multidomain MDM reveal new insights into your business Over the past few years working in data governance, I have encountered many projects aiming to re-write decision making processes using ”big data. When it comes to data-driven decision making, multidomain MDM is the ideal home to create insight and value from small data. governed master data Trustworthy decisions need accurate, transparent data, along with the necessary governance to make them informed and auditable Small data describing the context of what is happening now, coupled with its corresponding master data, forms the basis for making better, data-driven decisions The resulting combination of master data and contextually small data can be fed back into big data repositories, resulting in improved trend analysis Correlated data must be accurate and unbiased to support cause detection MDM provides the governance mechanism for the required transparency of both master data and the accompanying small data Decisions supported by small data often find themselves at the intersection of multiple domains; for example, the customer (master data), their location (small data), the product (master data), their current basket contents (small and master) and the weather (small).

  • 3 reasons why you think your colleague does nothing all day

If managers and project leaders don’t increase their communication and in turn provide clear direction for those on their teams, they could find that their employees spend more time griping than collaborating. If you don’t have a good organizational chart, it’s hard to get a good understanding of how each person fits into the organization. If everything is in place—you’ve got a good organizational chart, your manager is communicating clearly—and you still don’t One of our clients, Woodland Trust, says their communications tool provides a forum that allows their more introverted staff to contribute to company culture and truly become part of the fabric that makes up the company.

Using SnapLogic at SnapLogic: User Onboarding

Whether it’s automating the process of gathering data from multiple applications and sending it to various teams or tracking user activity, there has always been a way to use the SnapLogic Intelligent Integration Platform to make work more efficient. As the administrator for our 30-day free trial and the SnapLogic Fast Data Loader, I use SnapLogic the most for automating user onboarding. Fast Data Loader is an application built on top of the SnapLogic platform that uses the same Intelligent Integration Platform to deliver its user interface and run the pipelines behind it, so we want to make sure those users are seeing the Fast Data Loader UI and are in the correct project space to be able to run the pipeline behind it. The core pipeline looks something like this: With this pipeline, we take the information supplied by the user on the signup form, create that user with the settings as needed, create their project within the specified project space, and add them to a particular group so they will have the correct permissions to run the pipelines behind Fast Data Loader.

  • 8 Essential Features of an Architecture Firm’s Website

If you’re an architecture firm, your website needs to accomplish three things: present your body of work, demonstrate your expertise and clearly communicate your ability to address a buyer’s challenges. From site architecture and content organization to broken links and slow-loading pages, a great user experience is one of the most critical elements of any architecture firm’s website. Architecture firms often focus far too much on the dazzle of the design, leaving their website visitors to puzzle out hard-to-find navigation and make their way through a confusing and poorly marked labyrinth of pages. Now, the competition for the best industry keywords among architecture firms can be tough, but according to Hinge’s 2021 High Growth Study, only 36.2% of professional services firms reported that they use SEO activity as part of their marketing strategy.

Speexx predictions: What’s shaping the future of L&D?

By creating a mobile-first learning design, L&D professionals are prioritizing learners’ objectives and preferences so that they have the option to build their own journeys specific to their needs. With people spending up to 3 hours a day on their mobile devices, naturally the trend would push learning professionals to prioritize mobile-first content. Some ways AI is already changing the learning industry: While some in the learning industry still hesitate to introduce AI into their learning and training programs, we can expect to see AI to be more and more included in personalization of learning content and filling the gaps of the learning experience with performance support. Since L&D will be heavily involved in reviewing data in the corporate learning programs, they will need to be able to show the relation between the data and performance.
