  • £5 FLIGHTS – 24 HOURS TO BOOK!

Ryanair are currently doing a mega sale and flights to various destinations are only £5 one way! However, you can change the date of your booking up to 31st of December without being charged- but will have to pay the different in flight price. However when we put through different dates the return flights were still below £100! The same page (as above) will appear for the return flights Important note: Some of the countries included in this deal are not listed as travel corridor countries and you will have to quarantine upon return.

  • AIRBNB vs. HOTEL

The staff in hotels are well-qualified and you can use the amenities on offer at the hotel such as pools, gyms, spas, restaurants, shuttles and high-speed internet. Full house/apartment: When staying in an Airbnb you can rent the full house/apartment, which includes multiple rooms, bathrooms, a kitchen, garden and more. Large: Hotels can be huge and you can find yourself walking down long corridors for what feels like eternity just to get to your room. Nowhere to leave your luggage after checkout: Hotels usually have a room where you can leave your luggage, allowing you to explore the city a little more before your flight.

  • BE A CAPTAIN FOR THE DAY!

We were then showed the route and how to operate the boat by the amazing GoBoat London employees. Yes, we got stuck after only being in the boat for 10 minutes! We sailed through Little Venice, Blomfield Road, Maida Hill Tunnel, Lisson Grove Tunnel and Cumberland Basin Turn. A sheet explaining the route, rules and safety is given to you to take onto the boat and up to 8 passengers can be on the boat at one time.

  • UK ENTRY FORM

Additionally, if you are required to self-isolate for 14 days when returning, this is a way the government will make sure you are self-isolating. This form must be completed before returning into the UK from any country, even if the country you are returning from does not require 14 days self-isolation. This can only be submitted 48 hours before arriving to the UK and can delay the time taken for you to enter back into the UK. * the address you’ll be staying at for your first 14 days in the UK * details of someone who can be contacted if you get ill while you’re in the UK

  • HE LEFT ME IN THE AIRPORT

So, the day came for us to go to Disneyland, the plan was to fly to Paris-Charles de Gaulle airport, get a coach to Disneyland, spend the day and to return home to London later that same evening. Our day began at 2am with an uber to Victoria coach station, from there was got a coach to Luton airport and excitedly waited for our flight to Paris-CDG. Jason somehow saw a sign leading to the coach for Disneyland, in a split second he began bolting through the airport without a word. So, I too began to start running through Paris-CDG airport already at a disadvantage as he already has a 5-minute head start, was fitter and has a bigger stride due to our 1 foot difference in height.

  • HOW TO EXPLORE PARIS IN A DAY

Paying €6 for an all-day ticket to explore such a vibrant city is definitely worth it! We spent a considerable amount of time at each site, taking in the atmosphere, finding the right angle and pose to capture the best Paris picture. This is the order in which we explored the city: As soon as we stepped off the Eurostar, we immediately opened City Mapper to find out how to get to the Eiffel Tower. At the end of a 9-hour adventure we returned to the Eurostar station, sadden by the end of our Paris escapade and the thought of going back to the reality of lectures and coursework.

  • HOW TO TRAVEL TO EUROPE FOR £150 OR LESS EVERY TIME!

So before travelling to a destination, research the prices of flights and hotels during different times of the year to find the best deal. Europe has fantastic travel links and a 20-minute journey into the city centre from your hotel can reduce the cost of your stay by at least £30. When searching for a hotel set the filters to ‘lowest-highest price’ and ‘private bathroom’, this will show you the cheapest hotels first and ensure that the room has a private bathroom for you to use – if you do On the other hand, you can stay in the city centre (which is more expensive) but not have to travel in the morning and save money on travel fares.

  • TRAVEL QUARANTINE FREE!

When the government first announced the possibility of travelling again, it was said that there will have to be a 14 day quarantine period upon return to the UK. However, you will no longer need to quarantine when returning from the following countries- unless displaying COVID-19 symptoms. We will continue to add weekly to this list! We’d love to see your travels, follow us @jumpintothemap on Instagram!

  • WHAT’S IN OUR BAG?

(If you have read our blog on when I lost Jason’s passport you will know this is not always the case) After a long day of exploring you are going to want to shower and sleep, not trying to obtain a new hotel key from the front desk. No one wants their phone to die mid journey or mid photo, so carrying a FULLY charged power bank is essential! Unfortunately, we have packed dead power banks into our bags that’s why we stress FULLY charged.
