πΉππ£π₯ππππͺ π₯π£πππ₯π€ So we've had Emily's birthday and Charlottes is coming up. For each of them they both had a jar of treats as part of their presents. I wrote out 8 treats, folded them nicely into origami stars and popped them in the jar. Obviously I wasn't expecting covid to hit when I had the idea, but we will be working our way through them over the next month or so. Each jar contained - choice of park trip - choice of takeaway - choice of movie & snacks for movie night - choice of day out - choice of place to walk Bella - choice of games for games night - choice of any craft/activity to do - choice of anything for dinner (not takeaway) They can pick anything within reason (I'm assuming they won't try and pick say Disneyland for the day out and instead the local zoo π) it's all things we would do throughout the month anyway but it's presented in a way which makes it extra special for them.
π½ππ π¨ππ£ π‘ππ₯π₯ππ£ππ€ Praise the Lord I'm actually posting an activity on my page! I'd almost forgotten what it was like to set up something for the girls to do. It's definitely been a while π€·ββοΈ But Emily is bored she's day 5 of isolation and Charlotte went back to school today. So I grabbed this board that I made months ago and gave her our wooden loose parts for her to create a pattern. She didn't disappoint she made a beautiful flower. The board is just drawn on cardboard covered with sticky back plastic - it can be used for loads of different activites and completely free to make.
βππ‘π‘πͺ πππ£π₯ππππͺ πΌππππͺ And the little one turned 7. I have no idea where the years have gone, time just seems to fly by in a blink of an eye. It might not have been the day we originally had planned, but Lee finished work early and we've all spent the day together. We've played with some new toys, done some crafts for the first time in forever, had a lovely dinner and sang happy birthday with a gorgeous cake. We finished the day off with myself testing positive for covid π© #7thbirthday #daughtersbirthday #girlsbirthday #kidsbirthday
After a gorgeous morning out, we recieved an email for the school saying lots of covid cases across the school with 6 positive cases in Emily's class. So we did a LFT on her which was positive. The rest of us our negative at the moment. It's her birthday on Wednesday so everything we had planned now has to be changed. So fingers crossed the rest of us stay negative and if she has a negative test on day 6 and 7 she's then out of isolation
ππ¦πππͺ π‘π¦π‘ Bella was living her best life this afternoon on our very muddy very wet walk. Starting the year as we mean to go on, getting outside and enjoying ourselves. Only one more day and its back to school for the girls, I'm going to miss them I love our time off together.
βππ‘π‘πͺ βππ¨ ππππ£ I love a new year's resolution, I don't often stick to them but I still make them every year. Last year we had a family one which was to hit 1000 hours outside, to be honest we didn't track it for very long, as soon as lockdown hit it all kind of went out the window. So we are giving it a bash again this year. Tracker is from @1000hoursoutside Do you make resolutions? #1000hoursoutside
βππ¨ πͺπππ£π€ ββπΈπ½ππ ππ¦π₯ππ π Ive got a new year's resolution with a twist this year. I've been following @stitching_a_round on FB for a few months. Her finished hoop is amazing and I've been eagerly awaiting for January 1st to start mine. The idea is you stitch/embroid a little icon that means something for each day - kind of like a doodle diary but with threads. It only needs to be a tiny icon as you need to fit 365 on to the hoop. I'm not very good at sewing of any kind, so I'm expecting to fall out with my embroidery hoop many many times over the year! Have you got any craftolutions for 2022? Or any crafts you want to try? AD πΎβπΈπππβπΈπ We've had such a wonderful Christmas and a firm favourite was this Gravitrax Starter set from @ravensburgerglobal It contains everything you need to create the most amazing marble runs. It contains ready to go track designs or you could create your own unique track. You're able to experiment with gravity and magnets to guide the marbles through. It's a brilliant STEM construction kit that promotes creativity and problem solving. It's a great set that promotes learning through play and learning by doing. It gets a huge thumbs up from us. #gravitrax #gravitraxstarterset #ravensburger #stem
π½ππππ πΌππ π π π₯ππ πππππ And just like that it's Christmas eve eve and our final Elf post for this year. Innocent mischief is what the girls like best so this is a great one for them. The elves have once again been in my craft stash and taken all my red pompoms now half my house is disguised as Rudolph the red nosed reindeer! Wonder how long till they find them all? PS googly eyed baby Charlotte lasted 3 days without detection!
Christmas at Killerton We recently enjoyed an evening at Killerton House to see the lights. It was really nice, my favourite was the cinderella pumpkin patch. Killerton is full of loads of beautiful lights, Christmas music, Santa himself and the opportunity to toast Marshmallows. Highly recommend a visit.
ππΈββπβπΎ - π'π§π ππ ππ π πππ₯π₯ππ πππ₯ ππ©π₯π£π π¨ππ₯π π₯ππ πππ§ππ€ π€¦ββοΈ Day 21 - the elves got super creative in the night and decorated our whole front room window with some festive doodles! The girls were utterly amazed this morning. I used white @chalkola markers and a can of fake snow. I took some inspiration from @pinterest It took about 45 minutes for me to do.
π»ππͺ ππ πΌππ π π π₯ππ πππππ Can you find the candy canes? We churn this one out every year and it always goes down well. This year I spiced it up with some proper christmassy rhyming clues. The girls actually loved it, they managed to read and solve all of the clues with no input from me. SWIPE for the clues, these can be printed or written out I found the clues on @pinterest
π»ππͺ ππ πΌππ π π π₯ππ πππππ Wheres the elf gone? I love it when the elf ventures outside of the house. The girls get up and begin frantically searching all the usual elfie haunts. They then start looking in the more unusual places like the oven, washing machine and fridge π This then leads to the questions of whether the elf has left or got lost. The curtains are then opened and there he is hanging from the tree with some tinsel! *Please only put your elf outside in a safe place, people are more morons and will take them.
