Blog Tour Book Review: The Garden Lady by Susan Dworkin

THE GARDEN LADY by Susan Dworkin is a novel about  unexpected love, the silence that becomes complicity, and the magic of redemption. Urgent and compelling, the story resonates with today’s headlines as it poses the ethical question: How do we live with what we know but choose not to think about or act upon? Book Review: The Light Between Worlds by Laura E. Weymouth

I love portal fantasies, I think alot of readers probably do because opening a book is sort of like stepping through a portal and going on an adventure. As you can imagine after having lived a life in another one, that may be difficult and it proves to be especially difficult for the youngest sister who never fully came back from this world called The Woodlands and who holds on dearly to the promise that “A Woodlands heart always finds its way home. The story is told in two parts, the first is from the youngest sister’s perspective in which we see her struggle and her homesickness for this other world. The second is told from the perspective of the eldest sister as she tries to deal with the consequences of her and her youngest sister’s decisions.

Book Review: Wintersong by S. Jae Jones

But when her own sister is taken by the Goblin King, Liesl has no choice but to journey to the Underground to save her. I had originally bought this book when it came out because I had heard that it was a loose Labyrinth retelling and since I grew up with that movie, I jumped to buy it but it has taken me awhile to actually pick it up. Wintersong is actually based on the poem by Christina Rosetti The Goblin Market and does seem to be somewhat a Labyrinth retelling. I read The Goblin Market prior to reading this because I wanted to be somewhat familiar with the material it was inspired by and I loved it.
