Lately I have been trying to reduce the amount of red meat I have, because it's likely not healthy not have too much red meat (beef and pork). You can serve it with veggies and a carb, or make it as a sandwich, wrap, burrito bowl, tacos, skewers, stir frys, salads, pizza toppings, add it to a pasta meal, etc. Ingredients: For the Marinade: 4 medium green onions, sliced 1-2 jalapeno chilis, seeded and chopped (for additional heat, leave seeds in)1⁄3 cup lemon juice1⁄4 cup honey, warmed slightly to soften2 teaspoons dried thyme2 teaspoons olive oil1⁄4 teaspoon ground allspice1⁄4 teaspoon ground nutmegSalt and pepper to taste Directions: Cover and cook for 6-7 minutes per side or until internal temperature has reached 165 degrees Fahrenheit. Baste with marinade during cooking, but discard any remaining marinade before serving Don’t forget to “like” us on Facebook.
If you add frozen bananas to milk it tastes just like a banana shake, so for this reason I almost always use frozen bananas in every smoothie I make. But it suddenly dawned on me that I had learned how to make no churn ice cream, and the possible bases for it are frozen yogurt, banana, coconut milk, or avocado. So one could assume if you added those items to a smoothie it would create the same ice cream like texture and flavor. When I realized I had found the key to guilt free shakes of course I had to share it here.
Every year at the end of the season I contemplate what worked that year and what didn't and then make a rough plan for the next year. We have been gardening for 6 years now (check out our garden over the years) and every year I learn a lot. Since I didn't post just about anything last yr, I thought I'd share a recap of our garden last year to start the season. Last Year Peppers (banana and poblano did the best, Bell Peppers just did OK) Strawberries and raspberries (best crop in yrs due to a wet and record breaking warm fall)
I figure if you start every day healthy and have healthy snacks available, at least a good portion of your diet will be healthy, without having to give up things you like and obsess over calories, or carbs. My goal: over 300 calories, Over 2,000 steps a day, takes 20-30 min/ a day 7 days a week on the stepper machine 300 calories x 7 days week = 2, 100 calories ( that's .6 lbs a week, 2.5 lbs a month) but the problem is our weight can fluctuate day to day and even hr by hr.
