This past week I allowed myself to do something I haven’t done in the three and a half years since I started my full-time, post college job: I took a full week off work. In the past three years I’ve taken a handful of long weekends, visiting friends ranging from New York City and Washington DC to Austin or Palm Springs, but every time I come home from those trips I end up feeling more frazzled then rested. Taking time to reflect on all the sweet moments of the day, whether they felt important at the time or not, helps us cultivate a spirit of gratitude which translates into a greater sense of joy. As an introvert I resonate with this profoundly, but like most people our age, we’re stuck juggling after work happy hours, trying to hit the gym, spending time with friends or family and still trying to get to bed at a reasonable hour.

Don’t think I’m over exaggerating when I say that one of my dreams since starting my blog five years ago has been to work with a company like Black Box. (I’ve also seen it in specialty boutiques like the Paper Source), I found a Vodka cocktail for Gemini, a Whiskey cocktail for Virgo, and a Tequila cocktail for Pisces. Having just gone to Mexico last month, I’m still on a bit of a tequila kick and this cocktail didn’t disappoint. Candidly, I don’t love shots, so taking any of these Black Box spirits straight up wasn’t my favorite way to enjoy this new product, but I thought it was worth trying for the review.

I wear my wood watch at least a few times a week, (genuinely not exaggerating) and because of the natural wood, I feel like it goes with anything. As an added bonus, the watches are made largely with reclaimed materials so just like your re-usable straw, you can feel like you’re doing a little something to prolong the environment and not choke a turtle. My OG Jord watch is an earthy, darker wood with gold face (here), I love the combo of natural and glam, but this time around I opted for something a little out of my comfort zone with this periwinkle watch face and lighter band.
