Welcome to Andy's World Journeys, I've visited 70 countries in my life, and here's the fb page to link those experiences!
The weather has been brilliant, 25 – 27 degrees and mostly sunny the whole time, and I’ve really had a chance to unwind and enjoy where I’m at – yes first Sea World and then Movie Word – ‘Hollywood on the Gold Coast’ as their tagline has been since it opened back in the 1990s bought DC Comics, and so the main feature of Movie World is the DC Universe, which means Superman, Batman and his foes, Wonder Woman etc etc. But I went on two of the most thrilling rides I’ve ever been on in Theme Parks with the Superman ride and Arkham, based on the mental asylum tied to the world of Batman. , I took it in 2012 and it’s supposedly been redone, but frankly it seemed very familiar to me, there’s a short backwards section, and you get thrown about from side to side on fast corners, but it’s not rivalling Arkham or Superman!
Sorry to not ACTUALLY be ‘throwing back’ this week, but I thought I would share this video of the 41 participants of this year’s upcoming competition, Which I think will give Australia’s Kate Mille-Heidke a chance of doing well, a good chance of a top ten finish I think, as her’s is quite distinctive. I think Russia would be a good bet, as the song is solid, featuring Sergey Lazarev, who came very close in 2016 and it’s fair to see either Dami The United Kingdom also has a really powerful ballad this year, and hopefully can garner more votes than they have in the last 18 years.
The water here on the Gold Coast is around 25 degrees at the moment which is perfect for snorkelling. I went out on a boat early this morning to Wave Break Island, and around the rocks there we found a number of schools of fish. After that, I headed to Sea World, a theme park here where they have a snorkelling experience, but it features a wide variety of fish, sharks and rays.
You find me today on Australia’s Gold Coast, in the town of Surfer’s Paradise. So here I am today, after taking an early morning flight from Melbourne. I have four nights and three days up here before returning home and to work, It went all pretty smoothly all said, apart from well, stabbing myself in the eye with my comb this morning (something very hard to do) and then contact from my bank querying my use of Uber this morning. Paradise is a beachside town with a lot of highrise, and although it often gets ridiculed by some, it’s actually a pretty pleasant place.
