Swimsuit season is right around the corners ladies (actually it’s in full swing here in Florida! ), so it’s time to start prepping your wardrobe for the sunshine and ocean breeze! Now that swimsuit season is on your radar, I thought I’d start sharing some of my fav swimmy picks of the season so far. Based on what I’ve seen online and in stores, the biggest swimsuit trends of the season seem to be high waisted bikinis and one-pieces, pom poms and tassels, seersucker and gingham, belted swimsuits, and ruffles! I really feel like this is the best swim assortment that I’ve seen in awhile, which makes me really excited for swimsuit season now!
If you’re ever visiting Florida (or even if you live here and want to do something outdoorsy on the weekend) I would recommend going to Fort De Soto Park! On top of that, there are tons of trails for biking and hiking, a ferry service to both Egmont and Shell Key, kayak and paddle board rentals, a pier for fishing, a dog beach, and of course the Fort (which is from World War II). Fort De Soto does have a few food concession areas, but there are also so many areas for you to sit and have a nice picnic lunch. This is definitely more of a quiet, family beach, so if you want to avoid beach bars and crazy college kids than this is definitely the place for you!
I always used to think that maxi dresses were more for summer, but they have become a year round staple for my wardrobe…especially since I live in Florida. You’ll hear me talk about the weather in Florida a lot on my blog, because it’s such an important factor when I’m choosing what to wear everyday. As much as I love cozy sweaters, they are not always Florida right, so I try to find items for my wardrobe that are comfortable and lightweight, but also on trend for each season. This maxi looks super cute with a felt hat, tassel earrings, and either a pair of flat sandals or with a small chunky heel.
I know what you’re probably thinking…who actually wears boots in Florida? ! November-March can actually get pretty chilly, and regardless of the weather, I start rocking my boots as soon as Fall hits! I think boots are actually my favorite type of shoe, and I’m not going to lie, I got a little boot crazy this season. All of the boots I bought this season were all really affordable though, which makes it ok right? !
