Hi! We're Tim and Sarah, an outdoorsy adventure couple based in Denver, Colorado. Together we've traveled to all 7 continents and over 70 countries. Currently, we're exploring the US in our converted Sprinter van with our cat, when not based at home in Colorado. We post about road trips, national parks, hikes, and other outdoor adventures. With nearly a hundred attractions, both natural and manmade, packed into a small city 50 miles northwest of Wisconsin’s state capital of Madison and about three hours from Chicago, Wisconsin Dells is a perfect destination for a fall weekend (or longer!) Mirror Lake State Park is a great place to view fall foliage, thanks to the tranquil lake for which the park is named. Vertical Illusions offers guided rock climbing trips to Chimney Rock Park as well as Devils Lake State Park. Devils Lake Climbing Guides specialize in rock climbing excursions at Devils Lake State Park, and have programs suitable for beginners as well as advanced climbers.
Day 2: Drive to Sigiriya, visiting Dambulla Cave Temples along the way The second day of your itinerary on this 10 day Sri Lanka journey is a busy one. On your fourth day of your 10 days itinerary in Sri Lanka, drive to Nuwara Eliya. Overnight in Nuwara Eliya for one more night, or if you have more than 10 days available for your Sri Lanka itinerary, spend one more evening here to relax and enjoy the fresh air. With only 10 days in your itinerary to enjoy Sri Lanka, it’s time to leave Nuwara Eliya behind and make your way to Ella.
If there is only one thing you do in Bolivia, make it a visit to the Salar de Uyuni, the largest salt flat on earth. Most trips are 3-4 days long and start in either the city of Uyuni itself, or in San Pedro de Atacama, Chile. The highlight of visiting Salar de Uyuni during the rainy season is without doubt the unique inch-deep lake that sits atop the salt flats as a result of the rain. Sitting at 5000 meters, the Sol de Manana geyser is one of the highest altitude stops on the Salar de Uyuni tours.
Ajloun Castle’s name goes back to Byzantine time (4th century), when a Christian monastery sat on this hill and a monk named Ajloun lived there. Shobak Castle, like Ajloun, dates from Crusader times. Shobak Castle is only a half hour away from Petra, making it an easy additional ancient ruin to visit. Though not as well-preserved as Shobak or Ajloun, Kerak is still a worthwhile ancient ruin to visit in Jordan.
