She’ll celebrate this year with her own kids, but the day will be tinged with sadness. So when someone from Autism Speaks contacted me last month to tell me that eBay wanted to sponsor a couple from Utah that paints cosmic glow in the dark ceilings to come out and gift Mareto with a special starry sky on his bedroom ceiling, I was very interested. We set up a Skype meeting with contacts from Autism Speaks, the sponsors of the gift – eBay, and the couple who paints the ceilings, Theresa and Alber Goldberg of StarmakerFX. + eBay wanted to film the process and put together a video to be shared for Autism Awareness Month… and for each share they will donate $1 to Autism Speaks (up to $10K.) + The final “seal the deal” moment for me was when the Goldberg’s told me they had software that they could use to plug in the location and date of Mareto’s birth, and it would give them a map of the night sky that was directly over him the night he was born.
