5 Winter Running Essentials for Outdoor Running

Running outdoors in the winter requires some special equipment to handle the freezing temps, wind, ice, and snow. As I’ve trained for a half-marathon all winter, I’ve come to rely on these five essentials, plus a few great basics all runners should have. Watch the video below to see my winter running favorites: 5 Essentials for Running in the Winter • Mine is basically a tube of fleece fabric, and it’s okay, but for running in more wind, you really do need something that covers more of your face.

Scribbles From Emily

We’ll get rid of that island, get rid of the cabinets and counters, open the wall to where the bathroom is currently, and make it one big space. When we take out the wall on the right side of the stairs we’ll be able to see what’s going on with that dropped tile ceiling in the living room. I’m hopeful that since there’s no ceiling light fixtures we’ll be able to just pull down that tile and uncover the original high ceiling again. Eventually, I’d like to replace the flooring, but it’s pretty serviceable right now, just like the linoleum in the bathroom.

3 Kid-Friendly Easter DIYs

In this post, I’ll show you three kid-friendly DIYs for Easter, including two different ways to decorate Easter Eggs. I have special memories of Easters past of the search for a new dress, egg hunts before church even though mom swore every year that we weren’t going to do one again, the one time my Nana bought us each giant chocolate bunnies, and of course my favorite thing to get in my Easter basket: Cadbury Cream Eggs. Two of the three are ways to decorate eggs, the other is a simple project perfect for cheering up a boo-boo prone toddler, or even a teething baby. I used dark blue and light blue, with a touch of mint, but you could use blue and purple, pink and purple, or two pastel shades.

DIY This Simple Spring Wreath

First, we’ll use the inside ring of the embroidery hoop, but you can make a second wreath with the other ring if you’d like. Then, attach the greenery by wrapping the floral tape around the stem and the hoop. I used hot glue to attach the rose in the center of the wreath, because there wasn’t a stem to wrap. Honestly, you could use hot glue for the whole thing, but it does get messy sometimes and I like the cleaner look with the green floral tape.
