Since I’m pregnant and just so happen to be a dentist clearly I know what I’m talking about — 🙄😅. Instagram vs Reality (SWIPE LEFT)✨ ••••••••••••••••••••• I would love to look & feel like this first pic all the time (lopsided línea nigra & all 😅) but I honestly end up being like pic two more often than not; Scared. Unsure. Hopeful yet overwhelmed. Today, we are officially 30 weeks and I can’t help but think that I could be a mommy of two as early as the end of next month. Mixed emotions are normal but the amount of stress I am under as a solo practice owner with new team members to train, among a host of other responsibilities and concerns, is enough to make a momprenuer doc go crazy. And these dang Braxton Hicks 😩 I thank God for my colleagues who’ve been in my shoes before and share words of wisdom and encouragement needed. I especially thank my midwife amothersworth who brings me down to earth, helping me to remember what’s most important; to prioritize my health and the well-being of my baby— because honestly work and patients will always be there when I return. These next few weeks, among biweekly meetings with my midwife and doula moonstonebirthing, we have a half-day childbirth & breastfeeding class with livewellthyllc (cause we definitely need a refresher after 5 years 😉) and a baby moon plan in the works. Most importantly, I have plans to continue being intentional about time spent with my big boy reminding him of the love I have for him and the importance he has in our lives as we all welcome these exciting changes in the new year! Walking into 3rd trimester like…. Can’t believe we’re here: Healthy. Strong. Growing… Somebody pinch me! 🥰 Pretty soon I’ll be a mama of 2 after being a boy mom to one amazing boy for nearly 5 years! Running a solo practice, growing a life, while raising one and being a wife is not for the faint of heart. It is only by the grace of God (and the help of my loving husband, mom, & amazing team bretonfamilydental) that I’ve been able to make it this far and for that I am truly thankful. I thank God for blessing me and keeping me, for His continuous mercy and divine protection during this season of transition. I am so excited about the journey ahead and look forward to seeing our newest addition in the weeks to come. bretonfamilydental turns 2!!!! It’s that time again. Time to share my testimony and the amazing opportunity I’ve been blessed with to live my wildest dream. Some days are bliss and others bloody hell—but I am honored to be the owner and doctor of such an amazing practice. I would not trade being my own boss and working with the most incredible people and serving my amazing community for the whole world! - - - - - - - Today Breton Family Dental turns TWO YEARS OLD as a startup practice and, I , two years experienced as a business owner!!!!! Financial hardship was my portion as it related to starting this practice and its effects on my personal life as I took a 100% paycut. But I saw no other way to continue in this profession with LARGE SLs, if I wasn’t writing my own story AND my own paychecks 😏 From dealing with much discrimination, unfair pay, mistreatment, & much disrespect —I no longer wanted to bust my tail building someone else’s dream and reputation for mere pennies. “If you cannot pay me my worth in this job, I will create my own.” And so I did. I did not know the first thing about starting a practice, let alone how I would even be able to do so, but I knew it was going to HAVE TO happen. I now have an amazing team of supportive individuals who uphold the mission and core values of Breton Family Dental and who do an exceptional job in helping to build a positive reputation in the community, with NO LOANS. A practice built solely by faith and the works of my hands. I am so thankful and can’t help but share how good God has been. We survived COVID19 as a new business and even have expanded our team and our services. So, to that sis or bro on the fence of wholeheartedly pursuing what’s in your heart...to you who feel like giving up, cancelling 2021 & your dreams: Know that He is still the waymaker, miracle worker, promise keeper, and will make provision on your behalf. Just write the vision and make it plain (Hab 2:2). Set goals and work in small parts to attain them. Accept mentorship. Pray. DREAM BIG! You can accomplish all things through Christ (Phil 4:13).
