My Nana hadn’t been feeling well for about a month; she was being treated for anemia but while her blood count was going up, she wasn’t feeling any better. I had a pretty busy morning that day which helped keep my mind off the doctor’s appointment, even though Nana was texting me the whole time. I was trying so hard to hold in my sobs because I didn’t want to upset Nana, but when Bonni said “it’s all over your abdomen” After all, Nana told anyone who would listen that all she wanted left in life was to be at my wedding (to a “good man with a good job”) and to hold my first baby.
I’m checking in right now from the airport waiting for my flight to Denver to visit my brother for the weekend. If you guys have been following me for a couple years, you know I’m a big fan of Lenny & Larry’s cookies. I tried the new chocolate mint one at Expo West and oh MAN, it’s seriously so good. They do have smaller cookies that are a single serving, but it’s just such a tease when I’m eating the full sized cookie.
I choose to be well I don’t know about you guys, but I used to be absolutely obsessed with the lemon loaf at Starbucks. The Starbucks version includes soybean oil, palm oil, corn syrup, and a couple confusing ingredients to me like “enzyme Sometimes an hour still isn’t long enough for me; this is really important because otherwise the glaze will slide right off the loaf! I can’t believe it’s already the New Year, or that it’s already January 10th? !
I’m NOT anti-sugar, I’m team all foods fit. So to celebrate National Sauce Month, I knew I wanted to create my own version of the almond butter turmeric dressing without cane sugar. This made a pretty thick dressing, but that’s what I was going for because I wanted to toss House Foods tofu in it before pan frying. If you want a thinner dressing, try adding more water or less almond butter.
