I help travelers based in the southeast USA to prioritize travel in their life and make the most of their time off. I plan jam-packed itineraries full of fun things to do and the best places to eat & drink and love a good nature escape. By day I work as an electrical engineer and at night I run my blog and help my husband with our mini-farm. We travel as much as we can and I travel with all types of groups from couples to friends to family. I'm always up for an adventure and can pack my bags in 30 minutes or less and am ready to hit the road. I am looking to collaborate with other bloggers, exchange guest posts, and partner with brands.
Thank goodness the entrance was to an open air courtyard. 😅 When I went to Vieques with @adventuresabound, our room key was super finicky and we couldn’t figure it out the first night. I felt like the main character in a movie. 😂 What’s your favorite travel mishap?
Did you know that Beech Mountain is the highest ski resort in the East Coast? Not tallest, but highest in elevation. During the summer, you can grab a scenic lift ticket and ride to the top! Here’s what you need to know: 💰 Tickets were $22 each for one ride. 🍔 You’ll find a small food kiosk at the top of the mountain and outdoor seating with a few tables inside a small yurt. They serve sandwiches and wraps and I was actually happily surprised with the food quality. 🍺 There is a full bar at the top of the mountain too. 🧘🏻♀️On the weekends they have yoga on the mountain for $28 and that includes your scenic lift ride. 🚲 People also come here for mountain biking and disc golf but a mountain biking ticket is a higher price. Would you do this? #beechmountain #ncmountains #visitnc
There is so much more to this island than San Juan! Here are a few things to do in Puerto Rico that I would suggest: 🐠 Take a catamaran tour over to Icacos Island 🌳 Hike in El Yunque National Forest 🌊 Explore the beaches on the west side of the island - we did this with @aguadillawatersports and had so much fun! 🌅 Swim in a bioluminescent bay in La Parguera ⛴️ Ferry over to Vieques (or fly) and spend a day or two beach hopping Have you been to Puerto Rico? Anything else you would suggest? #hosted #DiscoverPuertoRico #TBEX #TBEXpuertorico

Is an Alaskan cruise on your bucket list? In 2017 I said I would never go on another cruise again. But when my family asked if I wanted to go on a cruise to Alaska, I had to say yes and I’m so glad I did! Cruising in Alaska offers the perfect mix of relaxation and adventure. It’s also a beautiful way to enjoy the scenery in Alaska. So is an Alaskan cruise on your bucket list? Or have you already been? #alaskacruise #alaskaadventure #travelalaska
🚢 Tips for an Alaskan Cruise 🏔️ I spent almost two weeks in Alaska at the end of May and part of that was on a 7-day cruise. Here are a few Alaskan cruise tips if you have one on your bucket list: - Bring binoculars with you for wildlife. - Fly in a day ahead if you can. I did this and was much better adjusted to the time zone than the rest of my family when our tour started. - Use embarkation day to familiarize yourself with the ship. Figure out where the best views are (interior and exterior) so you aren't running around when the time comes. We loved our own balcony and the bar & lounge at the top of the ship for the best views. - I wish I had brought a full-size suitcase instead of going carry-on only. Repacking everyday was annoying with the compression bags when we were on the land tour portion. Opting for carry-on only wasn't worth it in this case. - WiFi on the ship worked well for social media and emails. I even had phone service almost everywhere we went during the land tour (Anchorage, Talkeetna, Denali). - Laundry on our ship (Sapphire Princess) was $3.00 for the washer, $3.00 for the dryer, and $1.50 for detergent. - The specialty dining is worth it if you enjoy good meals and more of a dining experience. - If you are a reader like me, bring a Kindle. I went through 5.5 books during the 13 days I was gone. Take advantage of all the activities on the ship too though! - Splurge for the balcony room and on your excursions. - Pack meds for seasickness. I wasn't expecting the seas to be so rough, but the first full day at sea was pretty bad. - Go whale watching in Juneau. This is one thing we regret not doing. - We aren't sure that the land tour portion was worth it. We spent so much time on a train or bus and only had an afternoon at both places we visited. I would have preferred to plan the land portion out myself instead of going through Princess and then just done the cruise through them. What other questions do you have about an Alaskan cruise? #alaskacruise #travelalaska #alaskaadventure #alaskaphotography #alaskancruise
I’ve had TSA Precheck for 5 or 6 years now. While road trips are typically my travel method of choice, I’ve had to fly a lot more recently and it’s made me appreciate Precheck even more. It seriously makes airport security 10x easier. No need to remove your shoes, laptop, or liquids bag. You can keep light jackets on. You just lay your bags/carry-on on the conveyor and walk through a metal detector. Plus it’s only $85 and lasts for five years so even if you only fly a couple times a year, I think it’s worth it. Do you have TSA Precheck? #traveltipsandtricks #airports

Want to know one of the most underrated vacation destinations on the East Coast? ✨ Central Pennsylvania ✨ I’ve been three times since 2022 and am crossing my fingers I can make it back again this year. Here are some of my favorite things to do: 🥾 Hike one of the MANY trails - Mount Nittany, the Mid State Trail in Rothrock State Forest, and the Thousand Steps Trail have been some of my favorites 🚲 Visit Raystown Lake - The beach here is nice but mountain bikers come from all over to ride the Allegrippis Trails here at Raystown. I’m not a mountain biker but I did enjoy riding around the skills park. If you just want a nice view, Hawn’s Overlook is the place to go. 🍺 Make a stop on the Central PA Tasting Trail. Wineries, cideries, breweries, and distilleries are all included on this trail! I’ve been to many of them and you can’t go wrong no matter what you choose. 🛶 Take a boat ride through a cave at @pennscave or take a walking tour of Lincoln Caverns - both unique and beautiful! 🚂 Experience a piece of history and take a ride on the @east_broad_top. 🌽 See how the Amish live in Big Valley. 🐮 Agriculture is a huge part of central Pennsylvania, so visit a local farm while you’re here! One of my favorites has been Lovetwo Eat in East Waterford. 🏡 Stay: I’ve stayed at @bellefontebnb, @innatsolvang, and @airydaleretreat and trust me, you will be over the moon happy with any of these choices. Have I convinced you to visit this area yet? I didn’t even mention all the state parks here! #centralpa #visitpa #pennsylvania
Enjoy the outdoors by camping at Watkins Glen State Park Six Nation Campground, one of the most famous State Parks to visit in New York, located in the heart of the beautiful Finger Lakes region. While there is no swimming available at Four Mile Creek State Park, beach swimming is available nearby at Wilson Tuscarora State Park and pool swimming at Fort Niagara State Park. First Landing State Park is actually Virginia’s most visited state park and it is one of the most historical places in Virginia (and the United States) as it is where the first colonists arrived on new land. One of only two beachfront South Carolina state parks, Edisto Beach State Park features a beachfront campground and is only an hour away from Charleston!
Still, camping in winter does require a little bit of planning, and sometimes a little bit of gear. At the same time, if you’re going to go out in the cold, it’s important to know that your gear will keep you warm. Not only do they make your sleeping situation a little more comfortable than sleeping on the hard ground, but when it’s cold, they provide an extra layer of insulation for you. Freeze-dried ingredients like freeze-dried vegetables and meats, as well as partially-cooked foods like instant noodles and powdered ingredients (like powdered peanut butter, powdered milk, and grated parmesan) can help you put together meals that are flavorful and full of the calories you need to keep going.
It’s hard to choose the best wineries in North Carolina so I’ve put together a list of many of my favorites as well as some from a few other travel bloggers. After your tasting, walk through the Wine Shop to find your favorite bottle to bring home with you, or visit the Wine Bar, where you can purchase a glass (or bottle!) of wine to enjoy. A few of my favorites are Carolina Heritage Vineyard & Winery, Elkin Creek Vineyard, and Grassy Creek Vineyard & Winery. I recommend doing the deluxe tasting which includes a tasting, gourmet cheese dip, homemade crackers, and a glass of your favorite wine after the tasting.
Some people are just naturals, and it will take them less time to learn how to snowboard. While this is the most challenging and most time-consuming thing to accomplish, once it’s learned, you can quickly advance to blue runs and even black diamonds. However, the difference between skiing and snowboarding is that once you learn how to snowboard, it can be a lot easier to reach an advanced level. Snowboard boots are a lot more comfortable to walk around the slopes in versus ski boots which can be painful and are hard to walk in.
