PRO TIP: This couch also came with pillows but unlike the couch the pillows were NOT cute. (I was going to include our projector here, but Drew said he wouldn’t actually recommend it. This room is clearly not ideal for a home theater: it sits right at the top of our stairs, it has 5 huge windows, and it’s kind of a weird shape. Drew got the speakers on sale or used, we got the couch on major sale (and with a coupon), and we did this over the course of three years.
When you’re having a date night at home, you don’t have to watch the same-side-of-the-booth couple macking hardcore. I wanted to give you a little at home Valentine’s date inspo, and at the end, I’ll even share our plans for this year! Game night is a very obvious and easy at home date idea, but that doesn’t make it any less fun! If meat fondue isn’t your thing, save the fondue pot for after dinner and make your favorite chocolate-dipped treats!
As we got into a new year in quarantine, I think we all had a little extra time to binge this month. We got spicy Pride & Prejudice vibes in Bridgerton, and the breakup ballad of the year from Olivia Rodrigo. This book was recommended from a friend (cough, Marissa, cough) with no warning that it is, in fact, a SAD book. This podcast has a lot of really funny moments (not all of them are funny, but a lot of them), and a lot of well-intended (? is this what I’m trying to say) roasts of people doing ridiculous things.
An interesting thing that I read at the beginning of the pandemic is that it’s not normal for our brains to operate in survival mode for a prolonged period of time. there’s NO way it’s telling my body how to work right. I sleep better, my attitude is WAY better (ask Drew), I eat on a normal schedule, my back isn’t constantly hurting like an 80 year-old man, I don’t feel exhausted every second of the day. For me, it’s 10-30 minutes of down time, involving a non-stressful activity, where I’m not actively engaging with a screen or an activity (actively engaging being keywords here).
Y’all may be dreaming of a white Christmas but personally, I prefer red 😂🍷 It has FINALLY gotten cool here so it’s getting me all in the holiday spirit! I know the holidays are gonna look a little different this year but I am trying to have a good attitude 😅 and count my blessings! Plus, I don’t really need an excuse to not want to leave the house 🤪 Shared a bit of my ~wine expertise~ on stories today and some of my favorite picks from @winestore!
