Who says all-inclusive resort food is boring? During our recent stay in Playa del Carmen, we enjoyed delicious, beautifully presented Mexican, Italian, Asian fusion, and even Peruvian food! One thing I always consider when looking for a resort for a client is their food preferences and needs - not all resorts are created equal, particularly in terms of food! Just a few questions to consider: Does the resort accommodate food allergies/sensitivities?

Before living in Valencia, I had never heard of Fallas, a huge festival in Spain’s third largest city. The city itself is certainly not well-known, although it’s a beautiful destination right on the Mediterranean with history, museums, and of course beaches. The culmination of Fallas is la crema, when the whole city turns out to watch these beautiful temporary pieces of art burn to the ground on March 19. The fallers around the city aren’t just responsible for providing the fallas to the city.

While many companies offer small group or private trips along the Tour du Mont Blanc, we have done several active adventure trips with G Adventures and chose to do our ten-day tour with them. On day one, we met our guides and fellow travelers for dinner where we learned about the logistics of our hiking days and also got to know our hiking companions. Each day, we would take on one or two passes (called cols), with elevation gains ranging from a typical 2500-3000 feet to a maximum of 4300 feet on the second day of hiking. The remaining four days of hiking did not disappoint; we continued to enjoy unparalleled scenery, challenging hiking, and getting to know our fellow travelers.
