Welcome to my profile. I'm a 21 year old senior journalism major who owns A Black Girl Blogging, a lifestyle blog dedicated to all things fashion, hair, beauty and more from a black girl's perspective!
I find all the best blazers at my local thrift stores, but stores like H&M and ASOS have had pretty nice ones lately. We all laughed at that infamous picture of the Rock wearing that black turtleneck, chain and fanny pack, but look what’s trendy in fashion now? I’ve worn turtleneck clothing virtually all seasons, so don’t worry about packing it up after the cool months end. I’ve walked past loads of coats in thrift stores, but I left them behind because they weren’t me.
The Black Hair Experience”, a pop-up in Atlanta dedicated to black hair. From a “hot comb kitchen” to a wall full of “Black Hair” and “Hype Hair” magazines, these two women clearly did a lot of research for this pop-up! Other highlights of the pop-up included the magazine wall, full of covers of magazines I definitely flipped through when I was getting my hair done while I was younger, a headwrap wall and a brown background saying that “BLACK HAIR IS ART”. It’s evident from the moment you walk in that Brooks and Austin-Davis really took their time designing and hearing stories from black women to create this pop-up.
I’m sure everybody has also heard those “fashion rules” about not wearing white after labor day and not wearing double denim. A look like this could still be pulled off with dark jeans and a dark jacket, a light denim shirt and a dark denim skirt, or any other combination. The point of this step is to realize that double denim doesn’t mean a denim shirt, jeans and that’s it. The cheetah print pairs well with the white shirt I wore and also the light color of the jeans I wore.
I got the True Body Mesh Triangle Lift bra with matching hipsters in Bronzed, along with the True Body Mesh Scoop Neck Lift bra with matching hipsters in Amparo Blue! With other bras I own and even other sports bras, sometimes as the day goes on, I’m more aware of it on, but I never felt like that with this one. As far as prices go, the True Body Mesh Triangle Lift bra will set you back $64 and the True Body Mesh Scoop Neck Lift bra will cost you $64 as well. There’s plenty of styles that are around $6 and $7, which is more in my price range.
