If you weren’t already keenly aware of the staggering price of daycare, new information is out to confirm it: for parents that rent a home, they are paying just barely more for rent than they are for daycare. The cost of rent is rising (2.3% last year) and the so is the cost of daycare (up 1.3% last year) with a cost of living raise average is just 2.8%. The median income where I live is $56,000 and the median cost of day care is $28,000. It’s tough for parents to make enough to pay for those three major bills and all the other things that it takes to keep a family going.
