By the end of the book characters Simon and Baz have their backstories filled in and you feel like you’ve been there for the whole series. I read the first three book in the series last year in a 24-hour read-a-thon and they were the perfect series for it. This book is an alternative history of the United States during World War I. While we await the sixth book in the A Song of Ice and Fire (Game of Thrones) series George R.R. Martin and his trusted friends put together the back history of the Targaryens he had previously written and turned it into an incredible 700 page history of the beginning of the Targaryen reign in Westeros.
The restaurant was named after founder and managing partner, Chef Stephen Lewandowski’s son, Harlan, and the atmosphere he wanted to create, social. We left our food decisions in the hands of executive chef, Michael Sobelman. Chef Sobelman came to our table and poured his cheddar ale sauce over their signature Harlan Burger. For dessert, our table shared a chocolate peanut-butter tart, cheesecake, and the mouth watering deep-fried doughnut bites below.
