Let's talk SALARIES 🤑 💰 The job I hold currently pays aboooout $10k less overall than I could make if I got a job at a neighboring county 😮 Wanna know why I stay and haven't tried getting the same job at that county instead?! 🤨 😳 1. I feel supported where I'm at and realize that might not be the case if I were to hop into a different setting 🤝 2. My supervisor is the best supervisor I've had in social services (and that's saying something because I've had a lot of supervisors over the past 8/9 years 😜) 👇🏻 I did the math (in my head 😉 ) 10k is NOT worth the uncertainty that comes with not being supported and supervised in ways that feel good and empowering (especially when you're in social services... omg the struggle can be real 🤦🏼♀️) All that to say, MONEY DOESN'T ALWAYS NEED TO BE THE DECIDING FACTOR! 💵 If you can (acknowledging that we are all at different places with our finances and situations) do NOT let money trump your mental health, sanity, and well-being! 💪🏻 Take care of yourself, whether that looks like making less money or taking a bath at night 🤷🏼 All can be self-care. HELLLLLO FRIDAY! 😜 It's been a long while since I've done an introduction post, and what better time to do it than FRIDAY! Here's some info about me for those of you that are new around here: 🐶 Getting a dog is probably one of the top 3 things on my bucketlist 🐵 Crime shows are my jam. SHHH WE TRAVEL HACKED OUR WEDDING AND WE AREN'T DEBT FREE 💁🏼♀️ 🤯 Sorry not sorry, but we paid $50 for our honeymoon 🏝️ $50 for roundtrip flights from MSP to Cancun and a week at a gorgeous all-inclusive resort 🙌🏻 The points we earned from our travel credit cards paid for the rest!! Ummm BEST WEDDING DECISION EVER? Probably one of them 🤣 But seriously. We were already saving for our wedding in cash (& had a plan to have it all paid for, in cash, BY the actual wedding date), so it worked for us to put what expenses we could on credit cards and then pay them off immediately! 💰 💳 It's hella taboo to encourage credit card use these days, especially when talking about paying off debt, but you CAN do it responsibly 🤨 Probably not everyone. But we are grown adults and should be able to know ourselves and our spending habits and make decisions that best fit our needs!
