We began 2018 with a three-month-old baby going to daycare for the first time, Mom just returning back to work, and trying to figure out what life looks like after all of that. I wanted Levi’s first year to be one where I found joy and truly enjoyed every moment of it. And how amazing that we can always mark Levi’s first year as the year they came from AUSTRALIA to visit for the first time! What do you want out of life, what do you want life to look like?

In light of Thanksgiving next week, I wanted to share some of my favorite recipes I’ve brought to the table when it comes to the Dewey Family Thanksgiving. This recipe makes me think of my Dad’s Thanksgiving feast every single time I make it. While many of the dishes you can find on our Thanksgiving table change year to year, one of the standbys you can find on the table every single year is Dad’s Cornbread Stuffing. Instead, the pumpkin pie I imagined called for a fabulous, spiced gingersnap cookie crust, the perfect complement to the sweet pumpkin custard filling.
If any of you know my dad, you will know the production that is the Dewey Family Thanksgiving. If you’re just joining the Dewey Family Thanksgiving, let me give you some background into the Dewey Family Thanksgiving… I’ve honestly never known anything besides homemade gravy and stuffing. While many of the dishes you can find on our Thanksgiving table change year to year, one of the standbys you can find on the table every single year is Dad’s Cornbread Stuffing.
