HYPE provides world-class software and services, which enable companies to manage innovation. From idea generation to concept development and execution.
Real innovation happens only when you are able to IDENTIFY an opportunity, IGNITE ideas and solutions, INVESTIGATE ideas to see if they will work, INVEST in the best ones, IMPLEMENT the idea in the world, and IMPROVE on the idea to see if it can create more value. HYPE Innovation partnered with Turner to incorporate the Six 'I's ® methodology into our innovation software, enabling entire organizations to execute innovation in a people-centric way, covering all of the six profiles that innovators tend towards. However, they may also harness collective intelligence to help solve problems quickly or find new ways to make their project even better with inquiry campaigns, not to look for new ideas, but to assess and mitigate risks. Improvers perceive their strengths as being good at generating many ways to make an idea better and at seeking opportunities to improve on ideas with various people, customers, or stakeholders.
For working through the 'stress tunnel' by Emily and Amelia Nagoski Burnout: The Secret to Unlocking the Stress Cycle by Emily and Amelia Nagoski While everyone’s individual experience of the pandemic is different, we have a common foe that has added multi-layered levels of stress to our already stressful lives. This book is beneficial to anyone having to manage through enterprise-wide change, uncertainty, or inject a new way of thinking. She writes about how to become “change-ready,” how to liberate our ability to evolve, and to give ourselves “permission to imagine a new future and act on it. During the first lockdown in France, I was invited to give an online seminar with HYPE, and it was so successful that it inspired me to kickstart our Thales DIS Innovation Cafés and bring people back together virtually, despite the pandemic.
Sandra, tell us about your new role as Head of Social Impact & Sustainability at HYPE. As a member of the Enterprise Innovation Consulting (EIC) team at HYPE, I focus on social impact and sustainability. I am particularly excited about is Reimagining Fundraising, a new online initiative of UNICEF and many other NGOs worldwide, which we launched on the HYPE platform in early October. For example, according to UNICEF, 132 million girls worldwide are out of school, "including 34.3 million of primary school age, 30 million of lower-secondary school age, and 67.4 million of upper-secondary school age.
To better understand this, I talked to Bernhard Vierbauch, Innovation Manager at Liebherr Appliances, and his colleague, Christina Terenkoff, International Market Research Manager, about how Liebherr engages its customer community with crowdsourcing. Generally, companies might engage in customer open innovation to gain additional consumer insights, improve a customer's experience, create brand loyalty, or even engage in new product development. For the "Wine Experience Project," Liebherr made sure the community was always engaged by interacting with them in a playful manner (Phase 1) and making sure the crowd received feedback (Phases 2-4). If engineered right, initiatives such as the "Wine Experience" customer crowdsourcing project can help companies achieve customer-centricity goals and effectively accelerate new product and service development.
