I'm a food blogger. I'm a health foodie and follow a plant based gluten free diet. I am also Catholic and very open about my religious beliefs on social media
What I love about Young Living's Essential Rewards program is how easy it makes it to ditch and switch my everyday products to natural alternatives that support my health and wellness. All of our household and personal care products are things we use anyway and eventually run out of, it's when I run out of things that I replace them with the Young Living version or other natural products. (Young Living's makeup line), which I have found to be just as effective for its intended purpose, but with skin-loving ingredients and essential oils, and I 10/10 recommend it, especially because the Savvy Minerals liquid foundation I switched to last month is dewy, so a mattifying primer gives me a healthy glow and a balanced look. I hopped on the bandwagon as the pandemic was unfolding and now the majority of my grocery shopping is through Misfits Market and Thrive Market, so I am going to be talking about each of those services and why I like them as well as the role of the grocery store in my quarantine grocery shopping routine.
There is so much I love about Young Living that makes me feel so blessed to be working with such a wonderful company, but there are a few things I would love to be able to get from Young Living that would be the cherry on top and be so convenient if I could just put those items on my ER instead of having to outsource (if they even exist). Young Living does have the V6 carrier oil, but more often I use a single carrier oil such as coconut oil, jojoba oil, avocado oil, or apricot seed oil. When I run out of the ones I currently have, I would like to ditch and switch to eco friendlier options (which are also better for human health) such as unbleached organic tampons and reusable applicators, reusable cloth pads, etc., which Young Living does not have, but as a female dominated company, a lot of its members need period products and likely also share my interest in healthier and eco-conscious options. As you have likely seen on my social media and will continue to see in upcoming posts, I love the Young Living products I have used and I love what the company stands for, and I am so excited to see what new products Young Living will launch this year, and I hope that some of what I mentioned above will be part of that.
The left column is the "older" column, where I write down any items I had not yet used by the time that box arrived, and on the right is my "newer" column where I write down any new items I received in that box. The one caveat is that if you share the refrigerator with meat eater (the rest of my family is meat-eating) and they store their items on a higher shelf than you do, this creates an easier pathway for juices from raw meat to drip onto your items and cause food poisoning. and I'm usually pretty stocked up on those things so to store them in the fridge would take up a lot of unnecessary room in the fridge that would be better used to store items like my greens, cold pressed juices, and some condiments. Restaurants have to follow health department standards to prevent the spread of foodborne illness that are stricter than what most people do at home, and the health department does evaluate restaurants for compliance with said standards, so if they're not getting shut down for storing ketchup at room temperature and you haven't gotten sick from that (even though the packaging usually says to do otherwise), you don't need to store it in the fridge at home either.
I hopped on the bandwagon as the pandemic was unfolding and now the majority of my grocery shopping is through Misfits Market and Thrive Market, so I am going to be talking about each of those services and why I like them as well as the role of the grocery store in my quarantine grocery shopping routine. Every now and then one or two items might be a little past their prime but totally fine if used that day or the next, but the vast majority of the items I receive are completely intact and in good shape to last for a good couple weeks if stored properly, at a quality and stage of ripeness I would have purchased at the grocery storeVery good price for the quantity and quality. In addition, they include a recipe card in every box and there are also Facebook groups (not organized by Misfits Market) of other Misfits Market members (including groups for people on special diets) where we can ask for and share ideas and learn from one another, so you aren't left in the dust with things you don't know how to work with. I like that Thrive Market makes it easy for me to find the vast majority of items I need to save me many trips to the grocery store and that there's usually a freebie of the day with purchases.
