A new ransomware attack has been reported and has spread at the rate of nearly 2 million emails per hour. The ransomware attack has hit more than 20 million email addresses. The emails are claiming to be from a company called Herbalife, or some variants of the email also claim that a copier needs to be delivered. Researchers have determined that the attackers are using a single identifier, meaning that victims who pay the ransom will NOT have their files decrypted.

We recommend at the very least you sign up for credit monitoring and if you have extra $ to spare we would recommend you pay for dark web monitoring as well. We recommend the following 2 companies for credit monitoring, identity theft and dark web monitoring: Experian or Lifelock (who is currently offering a risk-free 60 day trial). It is imperative that you be vigilant and thoroughly check all financial statements and get your free credit report every 4 months from 1 of the 3 credit bureaus and review it at length.

To further protect yourself, you could also enroll in a dark web monitoring service which would watch for your personal information to appear on the dark web.
