Remember to take a moment to enjoy the landscape and the ever-changing sky. This beauty is from Sunday, March 20th, on our way from Idaho home to Washington home. This photo is just a tiny glimpse of the great Palouse. Then you can't help take in the beauty that the clouds have going on in the sky. This is one photo from the last week of pictures in my Catch the Moment 365 series, just posted on my blog. You can view the whole lineup by visiting angiesangle.com or my profile for a direct link.
Look out, world, we have a mover and shaker! Little miss Born to Charm (all decked out in her St. Patrick Day's cuteness) turns seven months today. She is full-on crawling around everywhere now, so we are in a world of trouble trying to keep her out of mischief. Back to sleeping all night in her bed (wahoo). She is eating solids like a champ and is in stage 2 of baby food - she doesn't know what to think when we give her actual solid human food to try. The faces she makes, while she eats are priceless. She still loves her Mommy most. She and Roxy are becoming the best of friends, and watching that is amazing. Roxy will sit next to her and just let her play with her collar dangles to keep her entertained. Happy seven months, little Miss Lily Bug!
Last night I hit publish on a personal blog post. It's a hard story, but I believe an important one. You can find the direct link in my profile if you missed me sharing it on my stories. Or visit angiesangle.com My mom was an alcoholic. She hid it reasonably well from the world, but a handful of people knew. One of the reasons she stayed home and closed everyone off. She thought everyone was out to get her. I remember this photo; I didn't want to stand next to her for my wedding; she smelled like beer. It was always her smell, and sometimes it was more potent than others. In the blog post, you can find on my profile or by visiting angiesangle.com - you can read about my story about Mom becoming an alcoholic and how I was already prepared and expecting her death many years before it happened. One of the reasons I handled it well.
I am struggling. I am a worrier. About every single thing, and there is only so much I can worry about at a time before I have to stop and say I can't worry about that, especially if I have no control, at all, over things happening. Which truthful, there is only a tiny amount I can control. And even that is only in a small amount. My work is quiet. And there are only so many no's or being ignored one can take without any wins in between before you start to feel down on yourself. I've done a lot of reaching out over the last couple of months, pitches, most of them have been completely ignored. The truth is, I think the no is better than being completely ignored. I am trying to get work to get my creative spirit going again. To get the ball going on feeling like what I do is actual work again. But nothing is panning out, and it's leaving me frustrated and disappointed. I'm always open and truthful around here, so I decided to voice my struggles a bit. Maybe you are struggling too and feel like you can take much more no's or be ignored. Know you are not alone. I won't give up. I like what I do. I'll make it work again. At some point, hopefully, sooner rather than later. Side note: I am working on a personal blog post that I hopefully dare to finish writing and have the courage to publish it too.
#ad Refreshing our spaces has always been in my mind, but lack of money & time has always been an enormous holdback. So now, with wanting to update our Washington home, we'll be trying to update the Idaho home to turn into a vacation rental, hopefully. We have lots of rooms needing TLC. And I am excited to share the upgrades with you all as we do them. Our bedroom is a space I will be trying to revive while we are home, even just a bit. This is why I am thrilled to be partnering with @thehavenly. Being a brand ambassador with them will be super exciting, and I can't wait to share the journey with you all as I go. Havenly makes it easy to get style tips from the comfort of your own home. Work 1 on 1 with your very own designer; yes, you heard that right. After the style quiz, upload pictures of your current room along with measurements, ideas of what you want to achieve, and much more. The designer will work with you on what works best for your space. Our bedroom is in our attic, which means odd angles. I am thinking of moving the bed over in front of the windows and shifting the space a bit. Stay tuned to see what minor changes we make. While I upload our space, take the style quiz on Havenly for your own space. A direct link is in the profile, and use Penguinsangel as your referral code to save a bit on the design. #Havenly #homeupdates #style #homestyle #homedesign #homedesigner #comfortsofhome #bedroom #bedroomupdate #updatemyspace #decoratinghelp #masterbedroom
Half a year went by in a blink of an eye. Lily is six months today. Can you believe it? ❥She has two little bottom teeth - and maybe sprouting the top two soon. ♥She loves her Mommy and screams anytime she is not right with me. ۵She sleeps in her crib sometimes and co-sleeps others. I can at least usually get her to sleep in her crib first, so I don't have to go to bed at the same time anymore. ❣She still loves any and all types of music. ❧Enjoys watching Instastories with me, especially if she is co-sleeping. Hard to believe in a short six months we'll have a one-year-old!
I am not an "influencer." That word grinds at me and makes me cringe. I run a blog. I run a business. I work hard at making sure I am telling a story and not just trying to "sell" you something. So yes, I'd love you to use/buy the thing I am showcasing, but you know what I value more, you enjoying the story I am telling—enjoying the pictures I share. I value interaction regularly. Me getting to know you - you get to know me more. I pay to own my business. Every year, I pay to keep my https://angiesangle.com - I don't own my Instagram, Facebook, Twitter - at any moment those can be taken from any of us. I do own my website, though. Do I enjoy using my socials in addition to running my blog? I do! Do I do campaigns/shares that are just for those? I do! But my base, my heart, my soul, my actual business is my website, my blog - my online magazine, as Jason likes to call it. The last two years were rough for my business. For others like my business. But I am hopeful that 2022 will find good change and be proud of what I do again. My life is so different than it was when I first started blogging, and I am hoping that different will help me tell more stories that bring in readers and therefore bring in more money for us. However, I am not shy about why I do what I do - to make a living. To be truthful, though, it gives me great joy to get to know you all when I share. So stick around and help this girl out and let's see what we can do for 2022 together. Thank you, by the way. Thank you for the support, the interaction, all of it. Thank you.
Just sitting here dreaming about actually getting out there relaxing and exploring.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ The picture you see here is from the last time we were able to really do that. Last year, 2021, we did a very quick overnighter to Bend, Oregon. This is part of the area of the Benham Falls and it was so fun. Such an easy path to the falls. Even while being big and pregnant.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Mainly we did it to keep our Choice Privilege Rewards active. Now looking back I am so glad we did that because it was only shortly after our world really started to fall apart.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I am aching for some real travel, but as I stated pretty sure most of our vacation time this year will be spent trying to settle the house in Idaho. Maybe, just maybe, we'll be able to sneak in some extra exploring when we are there though.
Guess who is 5 months today?⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Right now, we are in the co-sleeping phase, which so isn't my jam. But at least we are both getting sleeping. Next, we will try and move the crib up into our room (it'll be a tight fit but should work) and see if I can sleep train her. Wish us luck there.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ As noted in my previous post, she loves to eat and is experiencing new food and yums on her tongue. She loves that.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ She also loves music. Any honestly. But she seems to like 80s rock ballads. Not as keen on "baby" music. And as noted in stories, Party in the USA by Miley Cyrus.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ As you can see by the smile on her face, it's becoming easier to capture that cuteness on film!
I miss exploring. I miss taking odd shots that turn out amazing. The beautiful image you see here was taken from our hike on Beacon Rock way back on our anniversary in 2013.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I miss taking photos with my beautiful Nikon camera. (We either need to get mine serviced or buy a new base - most likely the new base option when we can afford it). I haven't touched it in over a year because it doesn't take as great photos anymore. It makes my heart sad. I miss the feel of it in my hands.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 2022 likely won't find much time for exploring either. Most of our trips will probably be to Idaho to finish the house and Mom's celebration of life. Jason wants to try to take a trip to California for his Grandma to meet Lily and see my brother. But time will tell. Vacation days are short this year (I will miss FMLA).⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Maybe weekend trips?
#ad You guys! I received as a blogger gift one of the most exciting things I think I've ever received as a physical item.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Do you see that is? *points*⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ It's a battery-powered heating blanket!! Say, what? Yes, that is right. This means you can take it anywhere to keep warm and not to have to worry about an outlet. Color me excited.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ You know I am almost always cold, so this little invention is heaven-sent for me, and I know several of you.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Now I haven't thoroughly tested it yet. I received it right before we left for Idaho at the beginning of December. I took it with us after I charged it but never got the chance to use it. The blanket is also super soft, which is another winning point for me.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I plan to thoroughly test it out here soon and do a whole blog review for a story soon.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Are you as excited as I am about this product?
At Lily's 4-month check-up in December, we got the go-ahead to try some solids with her since she had been showing interest for a long long time.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ That night we tried cereal, this was her face. She thought the texture was weird and was more interested in the spoon.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I waited a bit and tried again, was a bit better but she still wasn't a fan of this so-called "cereal". Next, we tried sweet potatoes, after a few test bites, she was a huge fan.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ We've now had more sweet potatoes (fan), carrots (fan), and green beans (fan!) - still not huge on cereal. I can't really blame her, it's pretty flavorless I'd assume.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ She loves eating and is now eating a full two-ounce container in her single feeding. I had been doing just most nights before she had her 5 to 6 bottle feeding. This morning I did some cereal to work her up to 2 to 3 solid feedings a day with her milk.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ When did you start your little on solids? We are excited to explore her taste buds!
