So despite all of the crappiness and outside factors that life may throw your way, it’s up to you to not use that as an excuse to choose self-pity instead of embracing happy. After working on myself and my own growth, I’ve realized that having a high sense of self-worth or a high self-esteem and knowing you are worthy of being happy, is the key to true happiness and leading a fulfilled and joyful life. Make some notes in your workbook and list out either who is currently in your life that you’re going to enlist support from, or alternatively – how you are going to put yourself out there to make new friends and create that support for yourself if it’s not already there. Make a practice of writing down 3 things you’re grateful for at the end of every day to remind yourself of the good that can be found in each day if you look for it.
Today I wanted to share a few things that have helped me learn how to find joy in mundane tasks, and I hope you find them helpful to make your own dreaded tasks a little more enjoyable too! If your mundane task is one that doesn’t require a ton of focus, try combining it with doing something else you enjoy at the same time. Funny enough, even though my 3-year-old and 1-year-old are usually complete crazies at the grocery store, having them with me makes the task a heck of a lot more fun for me. It’s made the task of grocery shopping go from something I dread, to something I do find joy in just because it’s more fun to do with those I enjoy spending time with!
Perhaps for you it means not making time for the hobbies you enjoy, not eating healthy foods to nourish your body, functioning on very little sleep everyday, being too hard on yourself and lacking self-compassion. Being kind to yourself isn’t a waste of your time and energy, in fact it’s probably one of the absolute best ways you can invest in yourself. I hope this inspires you on your journey to adding more self-love into your life and giving yourself the grace and compassion you deserve ♡ 1. (I’ve personally been loving this thai crunch salad that I make ahead but keep the ingredients separated and then mix together for lunch every day on the weeks that I make it.
Since I announced I was going to start sharing my weekly meal plans here, it turns out that I’ve been doing a decent job of making the plans, but failing at actually sharing them! We live in Chicago and are having some abnormally super hot weather with high 80s/low 90s this week, so I’m trying to not use our oven a crazy amount just to keep our house cooler. I’m sure some of these meals might end up being made on a different night than we planned based on what we’re in the mood to eat, but this is my loose meal plan for our dinners this week…. I offer a free meal planning printable pack for subscribers that includes a weekly meal planner and organized grocery list, so be sure to download it for free below if you haven’t already to help you with your meal planning!
