My name is Laura and I am really excited to be able to share my lifes story with you!!!

I grew up in a seaside town in Italy. I studied in Bologna and after that I left Italy. I have lived in a few cities around Europe, London being the biggest. I have always considered myself a sort of vagabond soul, a nomad always looking for new prospectives of life and the chance to improve myself.

My biggest passion is travelling, and while travelling I discovered how amazing the world is. It is incredible to see how many people are living on this planet, how their stories are different and similar at the same time and how we can interact and know more about each other. The world for me has no barriers and I want to explore it with you, sharing my experiences and my curiosity for life.

Urbino and the Renaissance period – Sandy-Toes

Today I am going to write a post about Urbino, a nice little Renaissance hills city in the region of Le Marche and a small jewel and of great importance in the artistic history of Italy. The Casa Melograno is a 16th century fram granary house in the middle of the beautiful hills of Montefelcino, in the Marche region. Urbino is 35 minutes from Casa Melograno, 45 minutes from Fano, 45 minutes from Pesaro and 1 hour from the closest airport, Ancona (Aeroporto delle Marche) where you can fly from Stansted (Ryanair) and London Gatwick (Easyjet). You can buy a ticket for the Palazzo Ducale and the Galleria Nazionale delle Marche – National Gallery of the Marche – for 8 euro or a combined ticket for this and other Urbino’s museums (palazzoducaleurbino.it).

If you are in London this December 2019 the first thing you cannot miss are the Christmas lights in Oxford Circus and Carnaby Street. if you need some ideas for your Christmas shopping and even better, the place to be on 26th December (Boxing Day) when all shops – Selfridges included – start their sales……Hurra’!!! Spend your evening at the most panoramic bar in town, the Gherkin First of all, I have to explain that the Gherkin is a commercial skyscraper in London’s financial district, the City of London. Screen 2 has 87-seats and is equipped with Sony 4K projection, Dolby 7.1 digital sound, Real D 3D. Please check on this link for more details and tickets: https://www.everymancinema.com/broadgate

The Best 5 Places to Spend Your Christmas – Sandy-Toes

As it is one of the most centrally located Christmas markets (located 40th to 42nd Street between 5th and 6th Avenue, map),  I will suggest you to visit the Bryant Park’s Winter Village. This market is open until 24th December from 10am to 8.00pm Monday to Friday, 10.00am to 7.00pm on Saturady and 11.00am to 7.00pm on Sunday. After the cold Lapland and busy and wintery New York, it is time to travel around the world and go to a place where it is summer (and by the wasy, my favourite season)!!!! The annual Winter Market will be back this year 2019 with mulled wine, seasonal treats and a great number of stalls where you can buy street food from all the culinary taste of the world.

Senigallia, the Velvet Beach – Sandy-Toes

The Pope Gregory IX ordered a reclamation of the territory and slowly the city began to recover in the fifteenth century, under the family of Rimini Malatesta. In the 18th century the fair of Senigallia, also called “Fiera della Maddalena”, became the main development strenght of this city thanks to the free trade. There are many things to do in Senigllia such as going around the city, visit its architectural beauties, drink a good coffee at the bar, have a drink before lunch or dinner (aperitivo) or stop in one of the many restaurants, at the seaside or in the city. A few steps from the corso and the almost hidden annonario hole, you can admire one of the most beautiful churches of the city, La chiesa della Croce.
