It’s impossible to get tired of seeing beautiful Mosques in Istanbul. They are at every turn it seems. Big and small, but equally gorgeous! We were taking the ferry from the European side of Istanbul back to Kadikoy on the Asian side. I looked over and saw this breathtaking view of The Blue Mosque and Hagia Sophia. I had to capture it. It’s my very favorite part of travel. Getting to see views I never get to see, experiences I have never had, and a look into a culture I don’t know anything about. The Mosques are always incredibly beautiful, and the call to prayer is the most relaxing part of the day, in my opinion. With each new country, I leave a piece of my heart behind and bring a bit of their culture home in exchange. Have you ever been to a country that had the call to prayer? Turkey is a literal feast for the eyes. Everywhere you go there are colors, smells, music, and plenty of incredible things to buy. This week we ventured out of Istanbul to visit Gaziantep, Turkey. The home of pistachios and baklava. You didn’t read that wrong, baklava was invented in Turkey! They also are known for amazing craftsmen of copper. We now know why Gaziantep is known as the food capital of Turkey! Wow!! We ate a ton and went a little wild buying copper and spices with no regrets at all! We have officially been in Istanbul, Turkey for a week and we love it! The food, culture, and people are pure magic. This has been a bucket list destination for each of us for a very long time. It’s extra personal for me (Amanda) as my dad lived here when he was a child. His dad was in the Air Force and they were stationed here in Turkey. To get the opportunity to personally experience a country that is so dear to my dad is incredible! That’s what makes travel so amazing! I’m able to relate to my dad completely differently having seen this amazing place! It has also made him realize how much he wants to come back here! Turkey is a must visit country!
