The Glides perform a brand of music that can best be described as alternative, retro, groove.
The Glides bring their unique, alternative, retro, groove sound to Richard Noggins Tavern in Glendale, Arizona, September 23rd, 2017, to kick off the release of their second CD, Go Go Go! The album (recorded at Full Well Recording Studio) features 4 brand new recordings, in addition to 4 bonus tracks from The Glides critically acclaimed first EP. The new recordings (a punk song, a funk song, a blues song, and a rock song) truly show the band’s diversity, with production and instrumentation that show of a band that has matured beyond its first recording. Since forming in 2015, The Glides have opened for international blues star Bex Marshall, have been on 2 west coast tours, and performed on closing night at Glendale Glitters in front of an estimated crowd of 75,000.
Go”, has already become the theme song for NASCAR’s Haywire Racing Team’s #92 car that proudly displays The Glides logo. One Time has received airplay on radio stations KWSS and KHER, with both the song and video for One Time being featured on Phoenix’s Fox 10 television programming. The Glides came together in 2015, drawing from the members’ shared love of groove oriented rock, alternative, and retro sounds. The Glides received their big break when they began opening shows for UK British Blues Award winner Bex Marshall.
GETTING TO KNOW THE GLIDES by Jacqueline Jax host of AVA Live Radio AVA Live Radio: How did you get your start in music or what inspired you to begin? Blending my love of classical and jazz with Rikki’s powerful pocket beats enhanced by Paul’s tasteful dance grooves and top all that off with TK’s lyrics and soulful voice, that’s how the whole alternative, retro, groove thing got started. It was really a point of realization that people were starting to take notice of The Glides, and not just our friends and families, but predominant people in the local Phoenix music scene. The music scene is thriving and there are so many new venues opening that are catering to live music.
