10 Tips For Planning A Really Fun Wedding Reception

And over time, I’ve realized that every “fun” wedding reception I’ve ever been apart of shares these ten simple commonalities. If you truly desire a fun dance party, please don’t place your DJ in an obscure location or in the corner of the room. The following is an optimal floor plan I would recommend for my most wedding receptions: For more insight on floor plans and where different elements of your wedding reception should go, check out this blog post. Keep these elements in the main room, as they provide a short path to the dance floor when someone’s jam comes on.

South Sound Magazine's Best Wedding DJ 2019

This morning I was pleasantly surprised with some delightful news: I have been selected as the Best Wedding DJ by the editors of South Sound Magazine and South Sound Wedding & Event Magazine for 2019! This is quite an honor, and I humbly and gracefully accept. A big thank you to my couples – all 376 (and counting! ) of them – who over the last decade have trusted me with creating not only an atmosphere, vibe, and crazy dance party at their wedding reception, but also a lifetime of unforgettable memories for them and their guests. Also, congratulations to two of my favorite South Puget Sound wedding vendors, Snuffin’s Catering & Historic 1625 Tacoma Place, for well-deserved wins, as well.

This question is designed for you to evaluate if the wedding DJ truly understands your wedding vision: not only your desired atmosphere, but also your expectations for him/her.

Tony Schwartz: Wedding MC & DJ

There are very few times where I am at a loss for words, but the moments after Evan & Vinny’s wedding reception concluded was one of those times. Take a wedding reception, mix it up with the vibe of a college fraternity party, and stir in some scenes from a Lil’ Jon & The Eastside Boyz music video, and the result is one epic celebration going down on the dance floor. If you want to see all of the highlights, hit up Evan & Vinny, as they have the full Video Capture that my video guru, Matt, expertly captured throughout the night. From the moment Evan & Vinny walked in for their Grand Entrance, to the end of night when everyone was headed home drunk, happy, tuckered out, and with photo booth strips and scones in hand – because when your wedding is held at the Washington State Fair, there isn’t a more appropriate parting gift than a Fisher fair scone –
