It’s the final day of @comic_con and honestly this is one of my favorite cosplays because this one hit the heart more than anything. If you know me, then you know I’ve always loved @disneydoctorwho I found this show when I was so lost and needed not just an escape, but a true hero. Someone who made me proud to be smart, weird, goofy, and one of the “others”. The Doctor helped me find my voice when I felt so silent and unheard by those around me. But what was even more amazing is that this year thanks to @ncutigatwa I for the first time actually saw MYSELF when I saw The Doctor. For 60 years The Doctor has been here and I’ve seen parts of my personality in him, but for the first time I saw ME! I found myself coming to tears so many times this year watching The Doctor give me a voice that I never thought he would be able to. Day 2 of @comic_con has come and gone and I truly enjoyed myself. I was so excited to be one of my favorite people Monkey D Luffy, although we only did the nonbadge events and sites we truly had a great time. I think what I loved the most was how so thousands of people loved seeing this cosplay. It’s not crazy to understand though. As someone who has put their entire heart and soul into watching over 1k episodes and reading hundreds of chapter of their manga , I get why we love Luffy and the straw hats so much! It was so great to see not only children but adults light up as they recognized who I was. I mean there was even a really heartfelt moment where I found almost my entire crew! There I was walking down the street when I hear “CAPTAIN” 🥹! One Piece had played a huge part in many peoples likes for the past 15ish years and we recognize the fan base everywhere we go. I truly felt in my element all day yesterday and had a lot to do with my fellow One Piece enthusiasts. Yesterday was day 1 of @comic_con and my first time being there! I have to say that the best part was being able to cosplay as one of my favorite hero The Green Arrow! I know you all know I am obsessed with Batman, but The CW’s ARROW played such a huge part of my young adult life. Watching the change of Oliver helped me open myself up to changing and allowing my character to develop to become who I am today. I invested so much into ARROW, that show brought me out of some dark places and this was how I wanted to say thank you to such an amazing show, cast, writers, and so many more. Hey everyone! I want to thank each of you for being so patient with me and for giving me the time to really figure out what my next steps are for myself, my brand, and my future. I’ve taken the last few months to really just take a step back and get to know what it is that I want out of my content, and what I feel would be beneficial for not only myself but for you all as well. As we we get closer to America’s 250th anniversary in 2026, it really makes me think about where this country started, how it was built over the years, and where we are headed. Although our country is at the precipice of so much division, I do feel the hope that a better future for all of us are near. That is why I am working with @250america , because we are the melting pot of the world and a place where our dreams and aspirations can be attainable. Everyday we have the ability to make a difference, that is why I love America. Everything I do, I do for the next generation, so that this same hope and inspiration that has been instilled before me is passed on to the next. Okay, I have to be honest here, I don’t think I’ve ever been more proud of any moment more than this one. This is one of the my most empowering moments, that moment when your give yourself the flowers you’ve earned. We all matter, and we all have our problems, but we are fighting for what’s dominating our communities today; the fact is that African American men are being hunted down and slaughtered. I would love to say that these unlawful deaths are a miraculous coincident and we live in a country where the police protect and serve without bias, but the truth is the target that black men were born with are finally being hit daily.
