Mathew and I have specific traditions- places we love to visit, things we enjoy doing together, and special foods we like to make and eat. It’s been fun to think about last year how I was pregnant during all these fun fall activities, and now our little Benjamin is here with us, participating with everything and making it all that much more special. Mathew was trying to support him on the haystack while I snapped the photo, but Benjamin wasn’t having it and the photo turned out looking like someone was snatching a little gnome from the pumpkin patch. It’s been a fun time incorporating him into our favorite fall traditions, then adding in a few new things this year.
“Balancing” a busy life is less like an actual balance scale and more like a pendulum swinging. Balance in motherhood looks like leaving things undone. And other days I’m trying to occupy him while I clean and do the laundry so I can feel like I have some sort of hold on things at home. I can’t, won’t, and don’t do “all the things.
Even though my current job title is “Stay at home mom” I prefer to get out of the house as much as possible. I’m a serious homebody and I love our house
Benjamin turned 8 months old on the 5th and I’m just in awe of how big he’s getting and all the milestones he’s hitting. , he’s got two teeth, he’s grown longer, and his thighs have the cutest chunky rolls. We started using this bathtub when Benjamin turned 3 months old and I love that it can be used in the sink or the tub and now that he’s older he can easily sit up in it. He could just sit up in our bathtub without a mini tub, but I like that his baby tub holds water so we don’t have to fill our tub and waste so much water.
