Hi! I’m Rachel.
By day I’m a scientist. By night, I’m online shopping, working on apartment projects, and cooking a dinner that (hopefully) takes less than 30 minutes. My boyfriend, Lee, and I live in Chicago, IL with our dachshund mix, Roux. We love traveling, exploring the city, and spending time with our family and friends. I'm passionate about living the life you've dreamed of, on a budget. Style, home decor and living can be homemade and trendy, all at the same time. I spent many nights over the past week decorating and planning our new place, and Lee and I are so excited that it’s finally all come together. This dining room is smaller but perfect for us, and all the linked items really help make the space feel bigger and cozy. We went for a California beach vibe and to evoke those feelings I felt that a variety of blue hues and wood items were essential.
Next, use either your clay tools or the earring post to make small holes in the earring. You will need two holes on the dangling piece, and two holes at the bottom of the circles. Then, I use the bottom of my paintbrush to make small indents in the bottom of the dangling part of the earring. Place earrings on a baking sheet (make sure they’re completely flat!) and bake for about 10-12 minutes.
Affordable style is important to me because as much as I love fancy bags and clothes, the average gal can’t afford a shopping addiction! The black top on the left is a BP Smocked Off-the-Shoulder Top, and on the right is the BP Square Neck Bodysuit. The white body suit is an easy layer that won’t get too hot under a utility jacket. I live in these camo sweats for a majority of the week, and they look so cute with the white body suit!
My homesickness always kicked in around holidays if I wasn’t headed to California, and he surprised me with a bottle of wine, candy, and a HUGE chocolate bunny. I was able to pick up the Reese’s eggs and blue grass from our local Target, but I ordered the other items from Target online. I love giving practical gifts, and our bar cart will definitely benefit from some cute whiskey tumblers. Lee is a whiskey connoisseur, so I knew he would be super excited to see the cool whiskey ice cube molds as well.
