So, even if you’re only visiting San Francisco for a few days, Sonoma can make a great day trip due to its close proximity to the city as its only an hour away by car. I took one such trip to Sonoma where I experienced wine tasting at two different wineries, as well as champagne tasting at a champagne bar. Wine tastings at both Jacuzzi Winery and Cline Cellars are $10 per person (you can sample five different wines), but the tasting fee is waived if you purchase at least one bottle of wine. If your time in Sonoma remains as a day trip then I suggest having dinner back in the city because you can start sipping on your wine again
If you’re feeling hungry I suggest trying some famous San Francisco clam chowder if you haven’t yet, and make sure to get it in a sourdough bread bowl as that’s part of the experience (and super delicious). After enjoying your lovely day along the piers you can get one last scenic walk back from Fort Mason to Ghirardelli Square where you can board the cable car to head back to downtown San Francisco. Also, if you want a shortcut to all of San Francisco’s most famous landmarks (or if you just simply want some extra fun), there is an indoor glow in the dark mini golf located at Ghirardelli Square. Either way, no matter what detours or add-ons you’d like to do during your day at the piers, San Francisco offers a lot of attractions, activities, views, and fun for anyone who wants to enjoy some waterfront exploration.
Golden Gate Park is located within San Francisco with over a thousand acres of public land (20% larger than Central Park in New York City). After its creation, the development of Golden Gate Park began in 1871 by the San Francisco Recreation & Parks Department, which still has administrative control of the park. Therefore, I have compiled a one-day itinerary for Golden Gate Park which is by no means inclusive of everything the park has to offer. For the first day of my excursion, I have created an itinerary to max out my entire day in the park, between the areas of Park Presidio Bypass and Music Concourse Drive.
A few months ago I traveled to the beautiful Puerto Vallarta, Mexico for a destination wedding. I was there for five wonderful sun-filled days of awesome views, good tequila, and delicious food. Everyone was very nice, even the locals throughout the city, and the level of service during my stay at Playa Fiesta was phenomenal. I would really love to travel back to Puerto Vallarta, but until then these photos will have to do, enjoy!
