Istanbul's New Airport has a long way to go to be the World's Best

The airport does have a kids play area, although we found it pretty disappointing for the flashy new airport as the one we visited on the F Concourse was just a room with a bunch of Ikea kids tables and toys with missing pieces. This empty play area gave me a bit of hope that the airport might be planning to add a proper play structure in these areas in the future, but there’s also the chance that they just have Our experience with actually asking for directions wasn’t that great, and I’m not sure if it was an issue with the agent not having great English or not having the best customer service skills, but we do appreciate the effort they seem to have put into helping customers navigate the new terminal. Interestingly enough, the US State Department recently issued an upgraded (level 3) travel warning for Turkey, which has us wondering if the airport will be all that popular, however based on the number of travelers we already saw flying through, seems that few tourists are discouraged from flying through Istanbul’s New Airport.

Rugs, Castles and Beaches: A Day Trip from Kosovo to Albania

On the way out of town we passed many of the city’s main sights, the Kosovo National Library (which has been deemed – we think unfairly – one of the ugliest buildings in the world), the statue of Bill Clinton, and skirted the main city walking street where many locals will come out to stroll as the sun goes down. We were headed out on a day trip from Kosovo to Albania to buy rugs and see the Adriatic Coast and planned to be back in Prishtina by bedtime. We didn’t have a lot of time left in our day trip to Albania as we were hoping to be back in Kosovo by bedtime, but I wanted to see the Adriatic Sea since we were so close If you’d like to to take a day trip from Kosovo to Albania but prefer to leave most of the planning to the pros, check out these Albania tours on Klook.com and find everything from a short walking tour of Tirana to a 6 day 5 night food and walking tour of Albania or an exciting 2 week tour of Albania and Kosovo

Things to Do in Kosovo: Exploring Europes Newest Country

The small country is easy to see by car or bus as nearly all of the interesting sites are within a short drive of the capital. The city center is charming with cobblestone streets, a few historic churches and mosques, and a nice stone bridge over the Prizren Bistrica river which runs through the center of town. The monastery was built in the 1300s and has been declared a Monument of Culture of Exceptional Importance and has been placed on UNESCO’s World Heritage List as one of the places of World Heritage in Danger. The Bear Sanctuary Prishtina was founded by Four Paws, an animal welfare organization that runs several bear sanctuaries in Eastern Europe.

Visiting the Rhine Falls with Kids: Enjoying Europe's Largest Waterfall

A trip to the Rhine Falls can easily be added onto a day trip to Stein am Rhein as we did, or done on its own as a day trip from Zurich. Getting to the Rhine Falls and away We got there by train from Stein am Rhein where we took one line to Schaffhausen and then switched to another train. There’s a large, semi-circle path that traces the edge of the water from right beside the fall down to an area with shops and cafes where you can get a straight-on view of the waterfall. There’s a kids playground directly opposite the falls with a picnic area adjacent so mom and dad can enjoy a meal and watching the waterfall while the kids burn off some energy on the playground.
