Blessen Loves Books is a blog & YouTube channel dedicated to reading and reviewing Young Adult books.
I now live in West Texas 9+ months of my year, studying psychology (and Public Relations & History as minors) and am probably the happiest I’ve been in my near nineteen years of existence. This blog is becoming a space where I talk my adventures at school (ranging from job searching to exploring my college town) and review books, try new recipes and talk more. This blog was initially created for my summer session class senior year (almost two years ago! ! I am currently pursuing my Degree in Psychology while minoring in History and Public Relations.
As the August term comes to a close, we focused on projects that were more reflective and fed into the academic year. This was made primarily with shapes and text, with the header and footer font being chasing embers . Yesterday and today, we worked on three other projects dealing with font, design and the future. The process for each one was similar with layers, text and color, with the movie remix poster being my least favorite to work with.
We worked with the pen tool, layer masks, options such as color burn and multiply, the text tool and shapes. Each of the images below required use of layers, shapes and the radial balance (center photo) the use of the flip function to flip the parts across the square canvas. On Wednesday, we explored color theory and the use of color in art and printing (electronic and digital) with 3 color(RGB color) and 4 color (CMYK color) systems to print color images. Images like that are colored with red, green and blue while CMYK images are colored with cyan, magenta, yellow and key (black).
Keeping within the theme of learning PS CC skills like yesterday, today in class we learned about appropriation in the art world. So for our class, we were asked to create a new image using a appropriated one in the process. After an extensive Google search, I found an impressionist painting by Claude Monet of his family in their garden. so I guess a new perspective on something wasn’t a complete loss on not getting what I wanted initally.
