Someone recently asked me, “what is your favorite part about being a mom?” 🤍 I took a deep breath. My thoughts started to swirl. Maybe I’ll say it’s the giggles in the morning or the new expressions they seem to wake up with every morning. I might even say it’s the adventures that we go on together to make the most of our days. Or maybe it’s the moment where they come back to find me from whatever activity that occupies them to just grab a hug or sit in my lap just long enough to fill up there touch tank. These are all beautiful parts of the way that I, motherhood, they still don’t compare to theme that I truly do consider my favorite, which is this: The evidence of God’s hand on my life is remarkably noticed when stewarding my life with littles. I can do my best, be my best, try my best, but at the end of the day I still have moments that need to be repaired. But God. The men that these little boys are becoming (and will eventually become) is somewhat my responsibility, but not entirely. I see God’s evidence in the way that he fill in the gaps where I have little energy and very slim margin for what my boys need. I see God’s hand on my mind when discipline happens, and I enter this new level of discernment that I’ve never known before. I’ve started to see the glimmer of moments that are beautiful that maybe I wouldn’t have seen before. My mind finally lands on this, which would be my answer to her question: my favorite part about motherhood is the way God creates a treasure hunt that I get to lead my family in finding the ways He kindly reveals Himself to us in ordinary moments that make our home holy ground. But it comes out more like this — I’m reminded that the Lord is the best parent we could ever learn from. It’s my favorite part. 🤍

Perks of being a boy mom, I suppose. Three year old version of Maddex moves me to tears everyday. 🥹🫶🏼🤍😭 I forget how magical childhood is and these boys quickly remind me: it’s rowdy, it’s chaotic, it’s adventurous and brave.
