Artist director Thierry Planelle is the mastermind behind the music, composing the soundtracks for all the men’s ready-to-wear runway shows at Hermès for the last fifteen years. Combining forces with Véronique Nichanian, artistic director of the Hermès men’s universe, and Christophe Goineau, creative director of men’s silk, the passionate trio innovatively illustrate the parallels between wearing a silk or selecting a record. As soon as you step foot on Gili T you feel like you’re in another world; there are no cars or scooters on the island, only bicycles and horse-drawn carts. Although Kelapa Villas is located inland for serenity, the ride to either side of the island is easy to navigate and only takes about 5 minutes. We struck up a deal for a private snorkelling tour and spent a few hours spotting turtles and underwater statues off neighbouring Gili Meno island.
