It’s festival season here in California, which means lots of music, flower crowns, and time spent outside in the sun. This tropical, refreshing drink is perfect for spring weekend afternoons, made with fresh pineapple, mangoes, and PAU Maui Vodka. This particular vodka makes for the ultimate tropical pairing because it’s actually distilled from Maui Gold pineapples at the Hali’imaile Distillery in Upcountry Maui! And since this season means spending more time outside, it’s a great time to think about ways we can keep the outdoors beautiful!
You also get a little card listing the other benefits, which include a one hour kayak or paddleboard session each day, a free bucket of balls at the neighboring golf course, and extended happy hour at their restaurant! Their restaurant, Decoy Dockside was another great amenity since it sits right on the lake, and you have the choice of their upstairs “finer” dining area, or the more casual Dockside bar downstairs.. They even have a nightly water show on the lake that projects scenes onto the water (similar to World of Color if you’ve been to California Adventures! ) It’s a quaint staycation away from the city, and provides the perfect setting to relax and have a little downtime!
Once we arrived, were lucky enough to stay at the Galleria Park Hotel because of their Instagram #jdvsummersips challenge, and it ended up being the perfect central location for exploring all of the city’s neighborhoods! Also, the trip wouldn’t have been the same without the AMAZING recommendations from my friend Bridget, who gave us the best local tips and made our little getaway so memorable! Located at the base of Hotel Zeppelin, The Rambler has a modern California-inspired menu and an exquisite cocktail menu. Head to Hayes Valley (fell in love with this neighborhood) and grab a spritz at Anina, a vibrant bar with floral wallpaper and an outdoor patio.
