As you may know, last weekend Stephen and I took a trip to the mountains in NC. When we go to the mountains, we typically go to Blowing Rock or Asheville, but this time we went to Highlands
So today’s post is going to be more of what it’s like behind the scenes of creating content for IG, and what the process is like to work with brands when creating it! Prior to creating the actual content, you have to go through a contract that outlines all the posts you are expected to create, whether it’s IG posts, IG stories, blog posts, etc. It’s hard because a brand obviously has its own vision and message that they want to be shared, but then you have to make sure that it’s also aligning with what YOUR brand message is. In cases like this where brands are more strict or have more legalities to follow, I’ve had to re-shoot things like IG stories because I’ve said the word “healthy” and there are legalities with using that word referring to food, or I have to re-shoot because when doing IG stories the label appears backward when you’re holding the phone recording as you would naturally.
The older I’ve gotten, I’ve learned that being “busy” isn’t a badge of honor, and if anything, being “busy” just makes me feel scattered, stressed, and rushed. I used to believe that waking up earlier meant that I was somehow “better” or being more productive, but I’ve realized that I need my sleep in order to have a productive next day! but if I can get my workout done earlier in the day, I tend to feel better as the day goes on! It really is the little things like making my bed, knowing I’m taking care of my teeth, getting in a healthy breakfast, spending quality time with Stephen and Fritz, and working out that makes a huge difference in how the rest of my day goes.
I typically have a love hate relationship with traveling for this reason, but after a few days of staying at the Swissotel in Chicago and experiencing their vitality suite, I honestly felt pretty rejuvenated even though I had been traveling at that point for 10 days. They understand that whether you’re traveling for leisure or work, people feel better when they have some semblance of their normal routine. Overall it was a great balance of enjoying Chicago while still feeling like I had parts of my routine that made me feel good on a daily basis. Do you feel like having hotels like the Swissotel and the vitality suite would help you find a better balance?
