Follow me for Disney food and drinks! On a personal level, I am a gluten free, movie-loving, book-reading pop culture fanatic with a very Enneagram 7 vibe!
Better late than never right? We finally made our way on over to Tiana’s Palace, and let me tell you, I was so glad we did!! I got the Gulf Shrimp and Grits, which includes shrimp simmered in creole sauce with cheesy grits. Those cheesy grits were one of my top five favorite food items I think I have ever had at Disneyland, and that is no exaggeration. The dish is rich but the spice of the shrimp cuts through the cheesy richness of the grits for a perfect balance. Will definitely be back! Also FYI - this is how the mobile ordering version comes packaged, but if you order your food at the restaurant, it comes in a pretty bowl! 💵: $17.99, Magic Key discounts available. • • • • • • #disneyland #dca #annualpassholder #disneylandresort #mickey #minnie #foodsofdisneyland #disneylandfoodies #disneylandfood #disneyfoodblog #disneydining #magickey #tianasbayouadventure
We were able to snag a reservation at the new Din Tai Fung in Downtown Disney this past week during their soft opening. After a lifetime living in Southern California, it was still our first time ever going, and it did not disappoint. We ordered the following (pictured): 1. Chicken Xiao Long Bao 2. Cucumber salad 3. Shrimp fried rice 4. Lychee green tea 5. Pear and lychee martini Everything was incredible! The xiao long bao (soup dumplings) are their specialty, but everything we ordered was delicious. The pear and lychee martini is a must, and the cucumber salad was perfectly balanced and refreshing. We can’t wait to go back!
There are frozen drinks all around both parks that are so refreshing, especially as it heats up for summer! This was a Coca-Cola frozen slush from Edelweiss Snacks near Matterhorn. The sweet cast member added a little cherry Mickey as a nice touch! The monorail was a paid actor on this one 😂 💵: $6.19, No Magic Key discounts available at kiosks!
One of the new seasonal items is the Blue Raspberry Lemonade at Smokejumper’s, and I did…..not like it. I didn’t even finish it - too sweet and mostly tasted like strong lemonade rather than any other flavor. The rim is what I thought tasted like an orange flavored sugar rim, which stained everything it touched 😂 not a favorite but would love to hear if you all had a different experience! 💵: $12.19 (includes the glow cube!), Magic Key discounts available.
Lucky Fortune Cookery is one of my favorite places to eat at DCA, and it is because I get to have gluten free teriyaki!! This is the Teriyaki Chicken with sautéed vegetables and steamed rice. I love this because it is a filling, well rounded meal that feels semi-nourishing to balance out my favorite treats in the parks! Another favorite here is the Beef Birria Ramen, which is my husband’s choice. 😊 💵: $12.99, Magic Key discounts available.
Um hello, hi, it’s me. Promise I am still here 😂 I wanted to share about my visit to Troubadour Tavern last month! Troubadour Tavern is located next to Tale of the Lion King, back near Toon Town! The main thing to keep in mind is that this booth is only open during daytime hours, 11:30-6:30. This is where you can find the famous baked potatoes! However, as you see here I also tried the Pride Rock Punch, which is Gold Peak Tea, pineapple, mango, tamarind, and orange juice over ice. This was SO REFRESHING and not overly sweet! I highly recommend! 💵: $6.49, Magic Key discounts available.
YOU GUYS. Magic Key Holders and friends of Magic Key Holders, listen up. The Magic Key Terrace in DCA is very unassuming, we took awhile to even try it. But it was a 10/10 no miss situation. This is the Big Thunder Ranch (RIP) Sliders with gluten free rolls as the buns! This included bbq short rib, roasted corn spread and pickled cabbage on toasted brioche buns (for the regular option). This is served with grilled corn ribs with corn ash dressing. Honestly, one of the best things I have had at the Disneyland Resort in some time. They also had very tasty drinks, which I will post about soon! 💵: $24.00, Magic Key discounts available.
This is the new R&D Martini from Pym’s Tasting Lab - it is an espresso martini with cereal-infused milk, dark chocolate espresso beans, and cereal crumbles. This was STRONG and really did the trick alcohol-wise. Flavor wise, it was creamy, rich, and delicious. Would definitely get this again! 💵: $19.00, no Magic Key discounts available.
Happy weekend everyone! I wanted to share this even though it was a special item at The Tropical Hideaway just for Throwback Nite this year. @disneyland @disneyparks please bring this back because it is my favorite dole whip creation of all time! This was the Tropical Punch Dole Whip Float - the juice is passion fruit, orange, guava (POG) with pineapple dole whip and topped with fruit. It was to die for. The end. 💵: $7.79 + tax, no Magic Key discounts available.
This is probably one of the most exciting things I have tried at Disneyland in a long time! The newly revamped Café Daisy in Toontown has a fun Pizza Flop-Over that you can get with just cheese or with pepperoni. The best part for me is, they made us a gluten-friendly version!!! And the gluten-friendly version has a fluffy thick crust that is so rare to find, I was scared it was the wrong order. It was so good, SO filling, and made me so happy. 💵: $10.49 (pepperoni) or $9.99 (cheese) + tax, Magic Key Discounts available.
This is probably my newly discovered favorite candy item at the parks. It is the peanut butter square, which is literally just a creamy peanut butter filling mixed with roasted peanuts and covered in chocolate. It is as amazing as it sounds, and sold at every candy store in the resort. And yes! This one is gluten free, but obviously stored in a shared case. 😊 💵: $5.99+ tax, Magic Key Discounts available.
I slept on this one for way too long because I rarely, if ever, go to Award Wieners in DCA. These are the Asada Fries, which are the iconic filmstrip fries topped with marinated carne asada, cheddar cheese, cilantro and onion. Even though it isn’t in the description, they are also topped with guacamole and a medium salsa verde. I adored these and would definitely purchase again! 💵: $11.99 + tax, Magic Key Discounts available.
If you eat one thing at Carthay Circle this season, let it be these croquettes! These are the Spanish Yukon Potato Croquettes with manchego cheese, soria chorizo, and roasted garlic aioli. Each element complements the other and it is full of flavor. For my gluten free friends - this is made in a shared fryer so eat at you own risk. ❤️ 💵: $18.00, Magic Key Discounts available.
