Spent two weeks following @david.sbaker around South Korea because #1 I'm slow - my knee was playing up and I have to stop and take photos of EVERYTHING & #2 because he is a great navi and knew exactly which bus or train to take. The Gyeongbokgung Palace was an incredible place to explore. Just look at the architecture and the light and shadows 😍 somehow this looks like the scene from an action movie!
Leeches. The jungle is full of these blood-sucking devils! 😈 Visiting Taman Negara during the rainy season meant there were plenty out and about! I have never experienced a leech attack before and would happily never again! When you find a leech happily sucking your blood your first instinct is to get it off quickly by any means possible as shown in the video but this is not the ideal way to deal with a leech. In fact, the best thing to do (according to our jungle guide) is to let them finish eating and fall off. Pulling them off can cause them to regurgitate or leave a part of their mouthparts in the wound which can cause infection. Leeches have an anticoagulant in their saliva which stops blood from clotting so after removing a leech you may not stop bleeding for hours. I hope this information never comes in handy! #malaysia #tamannegara #malaysiajungle #kualatehan #wildlodgetamannegara #jungletrekking #jungleleeches #lovemalaysia #visitmalaysia #travelmalaysia #bestofasia #travelbloggers #hikemore #adventureawaits #wanderout #createexplore #wowplanet #natureloversgallery #roamtheplanet #tourismmalaysia #malaysiatrulyasia #dreammalaysia #junglelife #travelblogging #outdoorsygals #hikingadventure #jungleexploring
Taman Negara - The Malaysian Jungle 🌿 It was a bit of a risk heading to the jungle in Malaysia at the start of the rainy season. I was prepared for a lot of rain but was hopeful for a bit of sunshine and luckily I did see a bit of sunshine and blue skies! The afternoon I arrived the rain was coming down heavily but it cleared up and I knew I had to seize that chance to get a few drone shots. One side of the river is the town of Kuala Tahan and the other side is the Taman Negara National Park which is. a no-drone zone but it was ok to fly as long as I didn't fly above the park. It was great to see the jungle from the air and appreciate the conservation efforts of the locals and rangers have been able to achieve in a country that has suffered a lot of deforestation for palm-oil plantations. This is a refuge for tigers, elephants, sun bears, monkeys, birds and the Orang Asal - the Indigenous people of Malaysia.
Exploring the canopy walk in Taman Negara the national park in Malaysia which is home to elephants, tigers and sun bears. I was lucky to get a bit of blue sky during my time in the jungle because monsoon season means heavy rains which I did not avoid entirely. Definitely recommend planning your trip in Malaysia around the seasons 🌧️ #malaysia #tamannegara #malaysiajungle #canopywalk #lovemalaysia #visitmalaysia #travelmalaysia #magicalmoments #bestofasia #travelbloggers #treetops #beautifuldestinations #igtones #wanderout #createexplore #wowplanet #adventureawaits #natureloversgallery❤️ #roamtheplanet #tourismmalaysia #malaysiatrulyasia #swingbridge #canopywalkway #dreammalaysia #junglelife #travelblogging
