The National Carillon in Canberra, Australia is an iconic structure on the edge of Lake Burley Griffin. The 50 metre high structure makes sure that the rings of the bells to be heard right across the lake. Located on Aspen Island on Lake Burley Griffin, this is the perfect place to view the entire lake. The views across the Lake are definitely worth it and if you are there on the hour or half hour, you will hear the chimes of the Carillon.
Most of us have heard that story (or have at least seen the animated movie growing up) that the youngest daughter of the Romanov family survived when the rest of her family was murdered by Bolshevik revolutionists in 1914. Embracing the innocence of Anastasia, this book looks at her everyday life such as school work and playing with her siblings but you can start to see the darkness that is spreading in the world such as Germany about to declare war on Russia. While you can probably guess how the story ends, I found that I felt sad that such an innocent girl like Anastasia lost her life during World War I. If you haven’t seen the movie or read the book it is essentially a story about a police chief, a scientist,a shark hunter and a really big great white shark that is terrorising the seaside community of Amity Island in the US.
