As most of you know by now, I got engaged a few weeks ago to my best friend, my other half, my soulmate. I always though everything had to be perfect, but the truth is, all of the imperfections (no nail polish, no earrings or makeup, me wearing sweats) made the moment absolutely perfect. I felt loved, safe and secure before we became engaged, but now that feeling has been taken to a higher level. One year, when I was about five or six years old, I got my mom a small dogwood tree for our backyard My mom, for example, has been wanting to play pinball down at the Asbury Park boardwalk, and I was planning on taking her this year. There is obviously a wait for her to use these services until all restrictions are lifted, but after two months (maybe more) stuck at home, I have a feeling her first trip to the outside world will be to the beauty parlor. Remember those crafts you made in school and brought home to your mom for Mother’s Day?
