Pişmaniye (pronounced pis-MAH-nyeh) is a most delightful melt-in-your-mouth confection we featured in our Turkish box. A question we get asked all the time is how we source products for our Trouvailles boxes. Honestly, that's one of my favourite parts of this job and it's also the part that takes the longest!⁠ .⁠ We start by creating our wishlist of products we'd like to feature in the upcoming box. Typically these products are meant to authentically reflect the destination's culture, flavours, aesthetics, and so on. There are a lot of variables that go into culling the list but eventually we end up with our final products. ⁠ .⁠ Next we start forming relationships with vendors in those countries. Since we're dealing with a new country for each box, this part is a bit funny since it's like culture shock when we start on a new box. Each country has their own way of doing things, and their own etiquette so we have to very consciously make the leap from the previous country and adapt to the customs and manners of the next. ⁠ .⁠ And from there we get to negotiating on products, prices, and quantities. The best by far is when that huge container of products from far away lands on our doorstep and we can start packing them all for you! ⁠ .⁠ So there you have it, that's essentially how we get products from across oceans over to your home!
