The girls and I had the best time at Harks Hill, it was the perfect place to gather and get creative with our brands, create quality content, and just spend time together! We did however make it into Keene for an afternoon jaunt where we went to the local coffee shop {Brewbakers Cafe}, and spent some time in the darling Italian bakery with a pink storefront {Hello Instagram! } The layout of the bedrooms is pretty ideal with 4 master suites on the second floor and more bedrooms on the 3rd floor which I thought would be ideal for kids. I think most of our time was spent in this room, with its long rustic farm table and cozy setting it was the perfect space for dining, working, and social conversations.
Walkable towns {think town centers, historic districts, and wharfs} full of local bakeries, coffee shops, gift shops, boutique hotels and restaurants with intricately designed storefronts not only create vibrantly beautiful streets, but lead to less cars and traffic, which leads to less pollution. In Newport, and all of New England, when you sit down at a farm-to-table restaurant {Stoneacre Brasserie} that roasted chicken over a pile of succulent seasonal veggies – that came from a local farm. When you skip the starbucks and head to the local coffee shop, you know you’ll be greeted with a warm cup of coffee made of beans that the owner spent hours, if not months picking just the right coffee beans to set off the aromas that is going to make your morning. When you sit down at Newport Vineyards to try a wine flight take a look around at all of the jobs created, from just that single small local business.
A live lobster tank full of the tasty crustaceans sits below a wall listing off all the delectable lobster dishes, and regional fresh seafood that Captain Kat’s offers. It’s little wonder that savory lobster dishes dominate the menu with Captain Kat’s Lobster Shack located in the Lobster Capital of Canada – Barrington, Nova Scotia. Lobster is a way of life in this town and at Captain Kat’s Lobster Shack it shows. It’s a tough call, but I can say that any lobster dish you choose from Captain Kats Lobster Shack will live up to all of your lobster expectations.
