Web designer by day, nail polish addict/hoarder/collector every second in-between.
threesome I’ve had with Alice of One Nail to Rule Them You can check out part one here where I attempted one of Alice’s designs, and today I’m showing you the design of Allie’s that I went for. The design I went for was the ‘less than, more than’, which is one of the most striking designs I’ve ever seen so I’m lucky that I get a legitimate way to copy it! Make sure you check out Alice and Allie as Allie takes on one of Alice’s designs, and Alice replicates one of mine!
First up, I’m replicating Alice’s galaxy hearts, which handily enough she also created a tutorial for! Thankfully Alice has a buttload of nail art under her belt so there were plenty of others to choose from! I’m not too unhappy with these, considering it involves a bit of hand painting with the heart shape, which I’m not fabulous at. Make sure you check out Alice and Allie and see who’s done what in this threesome, and check back on Monday for the second instalment from all three of us too!
Perhaps I’ll post a little more on that and how nail polish now fits into my life, but for now let me leave it by saying that I feel like there’s a bit more desire to share my polish related interests again. Sell, Keep or Chuck Series – sort of like ‘snog, marry, avoid’ but for polish which means readers will get a chance to buy polishes that are just not my cup of tea. Some polishes may only make it to my Instagram account, which isn’t a reflection of the quality of a polish, it just depends how much time I have at any given moment. The capsule wardrobe phenomenon has had a rather large impact on many aspects of my life, which could provide the basis of an entire series of blog posts, but that’s for another time.
The collection is called ‘What a Girl Needs (the follow up to ‘What a Girl Wants’) and consists of 6 polishes that were derived form suggestions from the Grace-full Facebook fan group. Three coats gave a really solid opacity, but you might pull it off with two. ‘Elementeal’ is a teal jelly base with teal and copper super holographic micro glitter. ‘Rain Upon the Moon’ has small silver super holographic glitter, a silver tinted holo base and rainbow flakes for the most MEGA shiny polish I’ve seen for a long long time! Butterful isn’t quite my cup of tea, but I was particularly surprised by Rain Upon The Moon because I wouldn’t normally go for something so flashy, but good Lord I couldn’t keep my eyes off it!
