Hello new faces 👋🏻 As there 5,000 new people that have joined me here over the last week or so, I thought it was the perfect time to reintroduce myself 🤯❤️ I’m a plus size travel creator who, for years, thought I was too fat to travel. I never saw anyone that looked like me travelling and so for the longest time, I truly thought I didn’t belong. Finally, I grew tired of saying ‘I’ll go when…’ and I asked myself ‘what if I go now?’ 👀 Since that moment, my whole life changed. Not only has my confidence and happiness grown, but I have also visited places I never imagined I’d get the chance to travel to 🥺 Now, I share my journey with everyone here, including any tips and tricks I pick up that could help others that travel in a larger body. I’m also super passionate about creating a community and safe space where everyone feels like they belong and so in 2022, I started hosting group trips. I’m now a few weeks away from my 5th, 6th and 7th trips and I cannot wait 🥰👏🏻 I love swimming, my favourite TV show is Dexter (minus the last episode) and play Fortnite when I’m bored. This is a great tip for anyone looking to get First Class train tickets for less, but especially for plus size travellers as it’s a more affordable way to get some extra space and comfort ❤️🥰 Here’s a few things you need to know about Seatfrog: 🐸 Bidding for journeys depends on lots of different factors, so search for your train and check for when the bidding officially opens and set yourself a reminder. Once bidding starts, it will also tell you when bidding ends. 🐸 Seatfrog will bid in increments for you, so if you set £30 as your maximum bid and the second highest bidder bids £25, your bid will go up to £26 and you’ll get cash back. I recommend having notifications on so you can keep up! 🐸 You can automatically win a bid if you bid the maximum amount set for your journey. 🐸 If you don’t want to bid and prefer to buy your first class upgrade straight away, you can do this! I often choose this method as it’s much easier to confirm I have an upgrade right away, rather than going backwards and forwards with bidding. 🐸 Always check first class prices before using Seatfrog, especially on weekends. Some train lines have upgrade offers on weekends that are either the same price, or a little cheaper if you use those instead. I’ve shared this before but there’s lots more of you here now, so I wanted this to be a reminder to do your research (but also to ask for places to include weight limits on their website if there are any!) ❤️👇🏻 A classic example of why it’s important to do your research as a plus size traveller! I usually check these things before I go anywhere but I didn’t think to check beforehand as 1) I was a little overwhelmed with work when I booked and 2) I’ve never had to check a weight limit on a hot tub before. I really do wish that this info had been available to me at booking because if I had seen it, I probably would have looked for somewhere that was more suitable.
